How does Siddhartha’s path to enlightenment evolve in Part 1 of the novel? Consider the impact that others have on his individual quest and the conflicts and tensions that arise as he pursues his path to enlightenment. Please focus on the “WHY” of the text rather than the “WHAT.” Avoid a straight plot summary and try examine why he makes the decisions he does and how it impacts others.
