The purpose of this assignment is to find out how you perceive yourself and how it compares and contrasts with how others perceive you.
This assignment will require you to download the “I AM” Word document. Cut the following “I AM” statements into separate slips. First, you arrange the adjectives in the order beginning the ones that best describe you and ending with the ones that least describe you. Then give the slips of paper to a minimum of 3 other people (you can add more): someone who knows you well (like a family member), someone who knows you occasionally (like a classmate or co-worker), and someone who hardly knows you at all (like a perfect stranger). Ask them to order the adjectives beginning with the one that best describes you and ending with the one that least describes. Be sure to allow them to use ALL “I AM” statements. Request that they be as honest as possible. Leave the room while they work on it so you don’t influence their responses. Upon returning, you simply record their order (if you have a smart phone, take a picture of it) If you want, ask them their rationale for the rankings they have made (please do so in a supportive tone; your goal is to learn, not defend!)
The essay should have the following parts:
Participants: Without giving their names describe who were participants are and why you selected them.
Data: In a table format, record the order of your adjectives of each participan

Participant 3 list
Analysis: What were the major differences and similarities between the various rankings? How different were the perception of others compared to how you see yourself? How do the others differ from each other? How do you explain these differences and similarities?
Discussion: Explain your analysis on the basis of your understanding of the concepts from Chapter 2.
This journal is not so much a report or a research paper as it is a personal inventory, analysis and reaction paper. Use first-person singular pronouns in describing what you experienced and learned.
