What is the nature of engineering design, as Ferguson lays out?

After having completed Eugene Ferguson’s Engineer and the Mind’s Eye, write a four-page paper that answers the questions:
What is the nature of engineering design, as Ferguson lays out? What is the purpose of design? What is the process of design? How has the information in his book helped you become a better engineer?
Note: cover page and works cited pages (if you use sources other than the book) do not count toward the four pages. The paper should be double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12-point font, normal margins. Write well. That which is written in haste is read without pleasure.
