Geography of the Ozarks

1. Sustainability issues in the Ozarks? Generally using a current events format, describe the causes and possible solutions of THREE economic, social, or environmental problems in the Ozarks using sustainability goals and rationale. At the beginning of the essay, you need to provide the definition of sustainability you will use to base your evaluations. I expect you will need to research and select recent issues in the Ozarks, describe the problem through a sustainability lens, and review possible solutions either from those from other sources or your own ideas. The topics are up to you, you can focus on one pillar of sustainability or provide examples of two or three different pillars.
2. Role of government? Describe THREE examples of how government actions support (1) conservation and environmental sustainability goals or (2) anti-poverty and social sustainability goals in the Ozarks (Focus on the same category, either 1 or 2). Feel free to address controversial aspects involving both negative and positive outcomes. Note: If you want to provide a more in-depth analysis, since you are only limited to two pages of text, feel free to focus on only one or two cases.
