Identify specific social semiotic signs/resources–such as framing, point of view, and modality–as they manifest in images from Parable of the Sower and Kindred
By reading contrasts in framing, point of view, or modality as key modes of meaning-making, describe the meanings communicated by one particular set of images from within one of the assigned graphic novels
Instructions:
Summarize the required excerpts of Parable of the Sower. This tends to mean, write at least one sentence covering the book’s setting (time, place, era) and premise (one phrase describing the overall storyline), and then another sentence summarizing the specific sequence of events through the middle of Chapter 2. Along the way, identify at least three characters by name.
Consulting at least two online sources (you may use one of the sources listed in the Learning and Assignment Overview, search Google or the LAVC library webpage), write any interesting facts about Jaime Hernandez or about the cultural backdrop of his comics and graphic novels. Include the title and author of any sources you consult, as well as how you found the source (Which search engine? What search terms?).

Within the required excerpt of Is This How You See Me, can you identify any framing rhymes that connect images or panels from different moments in a scene in the narrative?
