Part 1: Students will download the cost of raising a child online- Excel sheet and fill it out starting on page 2. Starting on page two, name the child. In column 2, list an event for every year from birth to age 18, and in column 3, provide a projected cost.
On page three of the Excel sheet, list all other expenses and total them up for a year and list the annual expense. Times each annual cost by 18 and provide a total. Include what you believe your income will be, and if married, list a joint income. Last, provide the difference between your projected income and the cost of raising the child.
Part 2: In a paragraph on this discussion board, answer the following:
a. Prior to have a child, explain why knowing the costs involved of raising a child is important.
B. If a parent cannot afford to provide a child with the items you listed in the Excel sheet, how might that impact his/her development (either cognitive, psychosocial, or biosocial)?
