Research police departments

ASSIGNMENT 1 – Research police departments, local or non-local (think big – like NYC!) and pick
eight specialized units from those departments (i.e. k-9, warrant apprehension, child advocacy
center, domestic violence, anti-terrorism, motor patrol, hostage negotiation team, school resource
officer, narcotics, Crisis Response Team, etc.) Discuss these specialized units and what their
purpose and operation are within the department.
These written assignments must be 3-4 pages each, not including a title page and reference page.
Assignments shall be formatted along the lines of APA style and include a cover sheet with the student’s name, date, assignment title, course number, and semester.
Text shall be double spaced with one-inch margins using a 12 font.
Papers will be graded on content, organization, and grammar.

Grammar, Spelling, and Punctuation – It is expected that this paper will be presented at a college level with appropriate grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Review your own work before you hand it in.
