You will then read current (2010 -present) peer – reviewed research articles, blogs, websites, news articles and op – ed pieces, seminal and theoretical pieces to better understand the topic. Based on
your reading in the field, you will write a well – organized synthesis and critique that captures what has been done and what needs to be done. Your review should conclude with a clear and insightful analysis of how your topic contributes to literacy success as well as how this knowledge can be used to address the
needs of all learners .
The paper, not including its title page or reference list, must be 8 to 12 pages in length, typed and double

spaced in 10 -or 12 – point font, with standard – width margins (left, 1.5”; others, 1”). The paper
(and reference list) must follow APA guidelines (6th edition.)
. The paper’s reference list must contain at least 10 citations. Each work listed must be cited at least once
in the body of the paper. The sources for your review of the literature should be primarily
(at least 2/3) empirical studies as opposed to “how to articles”.
