Rhetorical Triangle Practice Activity
On your way to an important job interview, you hear a siren squeal and see flashing lights behind you. With a sigh, you pull to the side of the road and prepare your information for the officer. You know you were speeding. Looking at the clock, you see you are about to be late for your interview, and you really need this job. Your family depends on it. You look in the rearview mirror and see the officer typing information into a computer; you have some time to collect your thoughts and figure out how to get out of this ticket as swiftly as possible and back on track with your day.
Use all three factors of the rhetorical triangle to accomplish this. You have the ability to use your imagination; create details and specifics to help your argument. Your goal is to convince the officer to quickly release you without a ticket. Each role of the rhetorical triangle should be a well-developed paragraph of at least 75 words.
