Quantitative and qualitative, and mixed-method study designs have merit. Quantitative study design has been the preferred choice. However, more recently researchers have begun to employ qualitative study designs/methodologies to examine health issues. Results from a quantitative study design can determine difference, causality and correlation. While the results from a qualitative study may help to explain why people act in a certain way, or describe the events leading up to a public health issue. In this DB you are tasked with:
(1) explain the primary differences between qualitative and quantitative methods. Be sure to identify one advantage and disadvantage of each and one of example of when they can be used.
(2) Develop a research questions and explain what type of research design is best and explain your reasoning.
3) Provide two responses to peers, expand by identifying further advantages and disadvantages and stating whether you agree or disagree with their choice in the more valid method. Be sure to explain why.
