a) Who was the best leader you have ever worked for/with? He/she may have been your supervisor, your coach, your teacher or anyone else you interacted personally with who was the best. Describe your respective roles and the context in which you interacted. (worth 15%)
This exercise is designed to provide you with the opportunity to reflect on and learn from your past experience. Your analysis should be heavily informed by the readings and in-class learning that you derived from the course. Please be sure to cite readings in support of your assertions in the paper. The major take aways should be individual insight and the identification of patterns and generalizations, which could assist your development as a leader. Your response to question (d) is particularly important and should be both substantive and reflective.
Please prepare and submit your assignment in Word format. Your individual analysis should be a minimum of 4 but a maximum of 6 pages of writing. The page limit is based upon double-spaced, 12-point, Times New Roman font with a 1 margin around all sides, inclusive of all appendices, tables, and/or figures. You may use additional page(s) for references only. I will not grade anything written beyond the 6-page limit.
b) Why was she/he the best? Describe three or four factors grounded within course readings that led you to choose this individual. What was notable about these factors? How did you feel and behave as a result? (worth 20%)
c) Assess your own leadership skills (strengths and weaknesses) compared to your analysis of this individual. (worth 20%)
d) What have you learned from this exercise? How could you apply these insights to your own development as a leader? (worth 35%)
(Note: Effective communication & referencing worth 10%)
