Chapter 12 discusses evolutionary psychology. This theory states that natural selection determines not just our physical traits suited to our environment, but our psychological traits and social behaviors that exist to preserve and spread our genes to the next generation. Evolutionary psychologists say that our emotions, our fears, our questions are the same ones that faced our ancestors and passed along to us.
However, the culture in which we born also effects our thinking, our acceptance or non-acceptance of norms, our views on social behaviors, etc.
