Through various agencies and decision/policy-making, the government enhances the lives of citizens in a bureaucratic manner; bureaucracy improves our lives. For example, in the United States, the federal government, via its bureaucratic rules and agencies, conducts functions to satisfy people’s various needs and improve their quality of life (Greenberg, 2018). For example, the Department of Agriculture (USDA) offers food and nutrition services, rural development, and farm services. Thus, bureaucracy affects our freedom in the sense that it offers our freedom to have equal access to our natural resources, freedom to be governed, freedom of speech, and many more. Bureaucracy is all around us, from government agencies to offices, so it’s essential to know how bureaucracies work, and the pros and cons of bureaucracy” Thus, it denotes that bureaucracy is not perfect, it has its pros and cons (issues or problem), but bureaucracy has been proven to improve the standard of living of the people. Hence, I firmly believe that bureaucracy is an influential aspect of our lives because it improves the quality of life and prevents interest-driven privatization. Despite its positive effects on the people, bureaucracy is also subject to red tape, conflict, duplication, imperialism, and waste. But among the five, conflict is one of the common problems encountered in bureaucratic countries. Conflict exists when some agencies work at cross-purposes with other agencies. The Agricultural Research Service tells farmers how to grow crops more efficiently, while the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service pays farmers to grow fewer crops. Because Congress has 535 members and little strong leadership, it is not surprising that it passes laws that promote conflicting or even contradictory goals (Wamsley, 2020). In this case, I would suggest that lawmakers create a framework and standard policy that will assure the different agencies that they will not intervene or interfere with other agencies. With this, a smooth transition of work is being observed, and the functions of each agency will be maximized without compromise.
