A problem currently experiencing and use the ACES Decision Making Technique

Choose a problem you are currently experiencing and use the ACES Decision-Making Technique to come up with more information. It can be a personal problem or a work-related problem, but make sure to go through the entire ACES process before you even think about writing your paper.

The four worksheets (Assumptions, Criteria, Evoked Set/Existing Options, Strategy) that you create while doing ACES should be attached to the paper as an appendix (this one use as a source but lemme see those first before you start writing the final paper)

Please organize your paper into the following four sections:

Summary of the Technique: Briefly (about a half page) summarizes ACES and how it is used. This should be relatively easy as long as you understand the ACES technique. The intent of this section is to show that you understand the technique and how to follow it.

Summary of the Decision/Problem: Briefly (also about a half page) describe and outline the context of the decision or problem facing you. Provide enough detail so that the
decision/problem can be clearly understood. You do not need to justify why this is a problem, you just need to describe it.

Analysis: This section (about 3 pages) represents the overlay of the ACES technique onto the problem. For example, when you challenged assumptions, what did you find? When you reversed weights on criteria items, did this make a difference in how you viewed the problem? When you expanded your evoked set, did this clarify the problem or generate solutions that worked for you? It is not necessary to answer these specific questions, but you should demonstrate how ACES worked for you when you applied the technique.

Reflection: Once you have completed your analysis, you should look back on the process and discuss (in about a page) what you learned. What insights did the technique provide? Did it do anything at all for you? Did you gain a greater appreciation for the value of theory? How might you use the technique on another critical decision or problem in the future? Again, I’m not looking for answers to these specific questions; I just want to know what you learned once you completed the analysis. This, essentially, is the “So what?” question. What did you learn?
