African wrestling in the early 20th century

Hello! I need to conduct an independent research that provides insight into the relationship between sports and society in 20th Century Africa. More specifically, African wrestling in the early 20th century. Please frame the paper around a minimum of three relevant academic secondary sources (i.e. – books, academic papers/articles) and utilize a collection of primary sources. Please follow Chicago style formatting (footnotes style).

Posible Research Question: What did African wrestling contribute to sports socialization during the early 20th century?

One source I found: Crafting Sport History Behind Bars. Author: Matthew Carotenuto (Attached to uploaded files). This article examines how indigenous sports, like wrestling, were ignored throughout the colonial era, as well as the legacy’s current influence. Carotenuto argues that the current form of wrestling (created behind the imposing walls of Kenyan prisons) shows the colonial foundations of historical discourse and governmental control over the sport.

I would like the paper to touch on wrestling in different parts of Africa. The article above focuses on Kenyan people. I would like another source/paragraph to focus Senegalese people. And a third source/paragraph to focus on another part of Africa. You can choose the third African Country that you find best for the topic. It can be Gambia, Nigeria, etc. I leave that at your discretion.
