Final Paper (Mapping and Analysing the System) AGEISM in Canada

Goals of the Assignment: to help students critically understand social justice issues through the involvement in reviewing literature. This
assignment will allow students to unpack the issue you aspire to work on from critical social justice lenses, and provide implications/recommendations for policies and programs from Community Development perspectives.
Please review 10- 12 literature (Peer reviewed and grey literature) and demonstrates the use of a diverse range of research sources.
Refernce List is adequately/appropriately cited/referenced (APA 7th).
Students are required to write 10-12 pages academic paper (Double Spaces, Times Roman and 12 Fonts).

Introduction
• Identify a social justice Issue and clearly articulate why this issue is important to you.
• Goals and Outlines of the paper.
• Methodologies/Approaches of data collection (peer reviewed/grey literature/ classroom discussion/panel Discussion/textbook and class materials/guest speakers and etc.)
Understanding the Challenge (Social Issue/Challenge)
• Demonstrates an understanding of the depth of the issues/challenge identified and presents a macro view of the sector.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the implications of the issues on individual/communities.
• Addresses the key underlying drivers (root causes) of the challenge and presents an evidence-based studies as to why the challenge persists and a view on the trajectory and history of the systems change.
Understanding the Solutions Landscape
• Thoroughly describes the existing range of solution efforts (polices/programs/practices) from diverse perspectives/intersectional lenses. Explore the diverse perspectives on what has been more or less successful and why.
Impacts and Gaps/Next Step
• New start-ups ideas/insights by identifying potential leverage points such as missing linkages or relationships, structural changes, policy change opportunities, that include wider actors such as government, non-profits, communities, educators, and researchers.

Identify and share your efforts in resolving the challenges using Rothman’s Community Development Framework (CDF).
Describe how you employ the various phases of Rothman’s CDF.
