Each student will choose a topic they wish to write about for the required research paper. The topic must analyze American literature during the period we are studying, from Whitman to the present. The paper should be a minimum of 1200 words including documentation it should include at least one primary source and at least five secondary sources. After reading all the material and the research paper module, the best place to begin is to choose the primary source. Once the piece of literature you will write about it. once these are understood, you were find secondary sources. In particular you will want to use scholar articles. Although other material may be used, It is harder to distinguish valid sources, and general references although reliable-information it is not enough for this type of paper. I especially recommend searching the MLA database; in many cases, students find all the required secondary sources here, and doing so it is a good idea, as this eliminates any concerns about type our quality of sources.
