Assignment one should quote, cite and contain three sources in an MLA style Works Cited and be three pages. The paper should be three pages and analyze two works of literature or poetry about war or plague. Use works by Poe, Seamus Heaney, Colum McCann, Brian Turner or any of the works in “Getting Started,” “Learning Unit 1,” or the course textbook section on “War” (pages 1291 and 1301) in The Literary Experience, which is our course textbook. Some of the textbook poets on war include: Richard Eberhart, Edgar Guest, Newbolt, Melville, e.e. cummings, Wilfred Owens and Anne Sexton and Carl Sandburg. The three page essay should include three sources in MLA style. It should analyze the main idea or concept of that poem. All essays should also include an explanation of which particular war and time period the literature is referencing. The essay may discuss a theme of war or plague, or compare what the literature is says about plague or war as different or related. Save in rtf , pdf, or docx format and turn in to the assignment drop box
