This works as a thesis statement: “The theme of this short story by Premchand is sacrifice and selfless love.” Make sure to keep that as your focus throughout the essay. Use your plot analysis to show us how this is the story’s theme. You do this some of the time, but in the middle of the essay there are some parts where you could make this connection more clear.
You have occasional word choice errors. For example, you say the story is written during Eid, when I think you actually mean that it is set during Eid. You claim that the reader incorporates figures of speech, when actually it is the writer who does this. Read through carefully to find the other spots where you’re using the wrong word.
You say a little bit about the historical/cultural context of this story, but this part could use more elaboration.
