We have spent this week reading about culture. I’m sure the “Oring” article about urination made you laugh and even maybe shocked you a little.
This week please create a post where you analyze an everyday behavior that you do related to your physical appearance(female perspective) and hygiene and talk about how this behavior is “cultural,” something that you learned and maybe didn’t question or think about it as something learned. Analyze this behavior and make some conclusions about your cultural upbringing, values and rules associated with this behavior. You can’t discuss urination, that has already been done! The Nacirema discussed some interesting American behaviors in an interesting way, so try to think of some others you can look at from an anthropological lens!
