Students are required to write a minimum 10 page paper on the Application of Ethics in Criminal Justice. The field of criminal justice is a broad field with many components including police, courts, corrections, juvenile justice, and victim services. Students should pick one discipline within the field and write a paper address the application of ethics in that discipline. For example, if a student is interested in the field of corrections, he may choose to discuss the application of ethics to punishment or rehabilitation. A student interested in policing may consider to examine the application of ethics in the hiring process or the use of police discretion.
