Apply the critical commentary of Lorde and hooks to the texts that we have read. What lessons have you learned about the Black experience using the texts that we have studied?

We have read, A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry, Linden Hills by Gloria Naylor, Your Blues Ain’t Like Mine by Bebe Moore Campbell and Kindred by Octavia Butler. All of these texts have discussed different aspects of the Black Experience in America. We have also read critical commentary by Audre Lorde and bell hooks. Apply the critical commentary of Lorde and hooks to the texts that we have read. What lessons have you learned about the Black experience using the texts that we have studied? You can discuss one lesson or idea about the Black experience that runs through all of the texts or discuss multiple ideas or lessons about the Black Experience that are seen in the texts. You will construct a 6-8 page paper that uses the texts and critical commentary, as cited evidence for your argument. You must discuss each novel. You must use MLA format (TNR, 12 pt, double-spaced, 1” margins, and a Works Cited, which is not included in page count).
