The extra credit opportunity involves writing a short response essay (500 words or more) about a news article from that week’s news. The news article should be finance related and come from a full length article in either the Wall Street Journal or the Financial Times. Submit here if you this is the second time you do extra credit assignment.
Please do the following:
Research more about the topic using older news articles, company filings, etc. Your research should provide more detail or information about the current story (and not be irrelevant). For example, if it is about a CEO, tell us their background and history.
Apply the tools you learned in class to help interpret the story. For example if it is about interest rates, use what you have learned about present values and the yield curve.
Interpret the results and provide your own opinion.
