Are parents responsible for childhood obesity?

Draw on all the skills and knowledge you have acquired this semester to write a research-based argument. At its core, an argument is a claim supported by reasons and evidence. The goal of argument, however, isn’t to “win”; rather, it is to persuade the audience that your position is reasonable. When you argue, you engage in a larger search for truth, answering difficult questions and solving real problems. For this assignment, you may pick any topic you like as long as you can approach it with an open mind. (Don’t write about vegetarianism if you’re a die-hard vegetarian). Use a classical approach to organize your ideas. Essays should follow standard MLA format (12 pt. font, one-inch margins, etc.) Essays should be 1600 words in length and include FIVE sources appropriate to an academic argument (such as sources from MCC’s library) documented in MLA style.
