prepares your reader for the rest of the paper. The thesis statement should
also take a definite position on the topic.
4. A minimum of three body paragraphs. Each should develop a reason to support
the thesis statement and evidence and explanations for the reason.
5. Consideration of opposing views

8. Transitions between ideas
Format: Use MLA format
Leave 1” margins on all sides. Double-space the text. Indent the first line of
the paragraph ½ inch.
Center the title. Do not format it in bold, italics, all capital letters, or a bigger
font.
