Assignment Task
For this assignment you are to write a 5-7 page paper assessing the case study located in the Case Study folder. Apply the concepts of Ecological Theory to assess the case and further understand the individual, social issue, and presenting problem.
Purpose of the Assignment
The purpose of this assignment is to further your understanding of the importance of the assessment stage and how theory guides the assessment in clinical social work practice.
Organization of the Paper (5-7 pages)
I. Introduction:
Present the individual in the case study and explain the basic presenting problem. Briefly explain the areas you will assess using the ecological perspective. (1-2 paragraphs)
II. The Individual:
Explain the presenting problem(s) of the individual in the case and describe the client history. (1 page)
III. Ecological Perspective:
Apply the 6 factors of the Ecological Perspective (Biogenetic, familial, cultural, environmental, resources and opportunities, and patterns of self-care), to the case study, using the factors to explain the client and the presenting problem (2-3 pages).
IV. Analysis:
Discuss how the ecological factors have influenced the individual in the case study. Present the strengths and struggles of the individual. Make sure to include culture and society’s systems in your analysis.(2 pages)
V. Conclusion
In conclusion, what factors do you think had the greatest influence on the client? Why? (1 page)
