At Risk Population

Use the at-risk population, “students of poverty,” to research and compile a list of evidence-based strategies and practices that have proven effective in working with the students of the poverty population. Create a presentation through PowerPoint presentation that:
• highlights a minimum of three (3) evidence-based strategies/interventions/programs that work with this population of students to improve teaching and student achievement.
• includes a description of each of the strategies (the WHAT)
• includes an authentic example(s) of each of the strategies to show how they are used or what they might look like in actual teaching practice (the HOW)
• provides the intended or actual results on student achievement for each of the strategies – if it’s an evidence-based practice, it should have some data showing how effective it is (utilize charts, graphs, research-study results, effect sizes, etc.) (the WHY)
• engages and motivates the teachers’ audience to understand the strategy’s impact and incorporate it into their current teaching practice through the format and visual appeal of the presentation AND through embedded audience participation opportunities.
• cites all sources using APA style references throughout the PowerPoint as needed and with formal references at the end of the presentation.
