Wk 2 Discussion – Birth Order

Adler developed the concepts of birth order and family constellations. What is your birth order or the birth order of someone you know, and how does it impact your or their personality traits? Do you agree with Adler? Why or why not?

Need for Cognition and its Impact on Decision Making

Edit first draft and include in text citations in the method portion. Write second draft to include 5 references, and write an introduction that is approximately 5 paragrpahs. I have provided you with two sources: a paper describing the Cognitive Reflection Test and a paper describing the Need for Cognition scale. use Google scholar or PSYCINFO to find at least three other sources. The paper requires at least one more research article that uses the Cognitive Reflection Test and at least one more that uses the Need for Cognition scale.

The Introduction section will consist of a minimum of five paragraphs. In the first paragraph, you will introduce the research topic and explain why it’s an interesting question. In the next three (or more) paragraphs, you’ll describe the previous research using the Cognitive Reflection Test and the Need for Cognition scale from the five or more papers you’ll be reading (the two I posted and the three or more you’ll find). The final paragraph will summarize your thoughts and end with specific hypotheses about how instructions to reflect and the Need for Cognition might be related to problem solving ability.

In writing the Introduction, the most important thing to do is to use the previous research described in the five or more papers to lay out a logical foundation for your hypotheses.

Add the three other sources to references

Global Marketing Communication: E-Commerce (Brazil)

Using the country you selected (Brazil) in your final project, what are the key issues that must be addressed by global companies engaging in e-commerce in this country?

Example of this assignment:

Japan is the third largest e-commerce market next to China and the United States (Kersey, 2020). With its large e-commerce market, excellent logistics infrastructure, and a population with considerable purchasing power, Japan is an attractive market for foreign companies (Kersey, 2020). However, in 2020, data revealed that only 10 percent of Japanese consumers buy goods online from foreign companies (Kaplan, 2020). Several factors play into this low percentage including Japan’s single language culture, brand loyalty to Japanese brands, and traditional cash payments culture (Kersey, 2020).

Foreign companies looking to enter Japan’s market must “be able to advertise, brand, and provide customer support in Japanese (International Trade Administration, 2022). Most of Japan’s population does not read English and tends to buy mainly from Japanese language sites (Kaplan, 2020). Global marketers must consider this factor and put efforts towards extensive localization to provide customer support, advertising, and branding in Japanese in order to attract the country’s consumers.

With this single language, culture means Japanese consumers’ loyalty is mainly towards Japanese brands, specifically towards local, brick-and-mortar stores. There is still a lasting traditional cash payments culture in Japan, meaning the Japanese tend to buy products in physical stores and not purchase online (Kersey, 2020). However, the e-commerce market is rapidly growing in Japan making it still a potential market for foreign companies to break into (Kersey, 2020). There are other issues when it comes to Japan’s e-commerce, but these are the key issues that global companies must consider before entering the market.

glo-bus company presentation

Company Presentation You will be required to make a PowerPoint Presentation summarizing the results of your financial decisions related to your assigned company’s financial performance over the course of the simulation. If you don’t feel comfortable using PowerPoint, your instructor will accept your presentation in the form of a term paper of at least ten pages in length, double-spaced, and submitted to Moodle. The company presentations should cover:
1. A slide describing your strategic vision for the company.
2. A slide that shows what performance targets for EPS, ROE, credit rating, and image rating you would set for each of the next two years (assuming the simulation were to continue). You may also want to indicate a stock price target as well.
3. A slide that sets forth your company’s competitive strategy in entry-level cameras in some detail and how that strategy has evolved over the years you have managed the company. You may need to have more than one slide here if your company’s strategy in entry-level cameras varies markedly from geographic region to geographic region.
4. A slide that sets forth your company’s competitive strategy in multi-featured cameras in some detail and how that strategy has evolved over the years. Again, more than one slide may be needed if your company’s strategy in multi-featured cameras varies markedly from one geographic region to another, such that your company is pursuing a meaningfully different competitive strategy in some regions versus others.
5. A slide describing your company’s production strategy (as concerns use of overtime, outsourcing, and expansion of in-house assembly capacity) and work force compensation/ training strategy
6. A slide describing your company’s finance strategy (as concerns dividends, use of debt versus equity, stock issues/repurchases, actions to achieve/maintain a strong credit rating, etc.) You should clearly describe your company’s dividend policy during the period you have managed the company. Here, you should also set forth what sort of dividend increases, if any, you would likely consider paying out in the next two upcoming years (given the EPS targets you have established).
7. A slide showing (1) those companies you consider to be your strongest/closest competitors in entry-level cameras as of the last year or two of the simulation and (2) those companies that are your strongest/closest competitors in the multi-featured segment of the marketplace.
8. One or more slides detailing the actions you would take to out-compete these close rivals in the next two years (assuming the simulation continues for several more years). Since the actions may differ as between entry-level and multi-featured cameras, you may well need 2 slides here.
9. A slide detailing the “lessons learned” about crafting a winning strategy and about what the managers of a company should or should not do for a company to be financially and competitively successful in a head-to-head battle against shrewdly-managed rival companies.
10. This presentation should consist of charts or graphs showing the following:
• Trends in the company’s annual total revenues
• Trends in the company’s annual earnings per share (EPS)
• Trends in the company’s annual return on equity investment (ROE)
• Trends in the company’s annual credit rating
• Trends in the company’s year-end stock price
• Trends in the company’s annual image rating

IT Constraints of the networking

Scenario
The Albany headquarters is home to the executive team and 150 employees. The headquarters also stores the corporate data and is the corporate internet backbone. It hosts the IT department that centrally manages all LAN services, including the wireless LAN. The IT department also manages the wide area network (WAN) that connects all of the offices via site-to-site virtual private network (VPN) tunnels. The Springfield office hosts about 50 employees. Approximately 50% of these employees are mobile, defined as traveling more than 80% of the time.

To hire and retain the best talent, the firm allows employees to work from home. This removes the constraint that employees have to live within commuting distance from the firm’s offices. Remote and mobile employees are provided access to the corporate network via a VPN client. The VPN client requires employees to have access to reliable internet services to allow for effective collaboration across teams and for access to media content. The company provides all employees with a laptop with full disk encryption, data loss prevention (DLP), and antivirus software. The IT department manages all corporate laptops and has the ability to log into all systems for support. This means that all laptops are centrally managed by the one IT department.

Due to an increase in opportunities for expansion to new markets, the firm has embarked on an initiative to hire and train new college graduates for the company’s Future Vision program. Future Vision focuses on global expansion. The initiative is to hire graduates into the marketing, finance, and IT departments. You were hired as part of the Future Vision program and have been working at this for some time now. You have spent a considerable portion of your time troubleshooting and analyzing the organization’s computer network to keep it running smoothly. Your direct supervisor and lead network administrator have been very impressed with your skills and fast learning abilities.

To determine whether you are ready to take on more responsibility, you have been asked for your input regarding the new Fayetteville, NC, office setup project. Your task is to conduct research on this area and deliver a report to the team with key considerations and recommendations for the setup of the network infrastructure. The Fayetteville office will be home to 50 employees, including the new executive vice president of sales and marketing. All the possible sites have offices located in an office building with access to fiber, cable, and T1 internet service providers. In addition to the standard network, the site must support live video teleconferencing calls with employees based at the other sites. It must also reliably send print jobs to billboard printers located in the company headquarters in Albany.

Your primary task is to respond to these questions:

How would you approach designing the network at the new location in Fayetteville, NC?

What considerations are key in informing the systems and resources necessary to meet the organization’s needs and support the business goals and objectives?

Keep in mind that this milestone contributes to the final project for this course. It is designed to help you succeed in finalizing the project. You will complete two milestones that provide the opportunity to draft key sections of the project, receive valuable feedback from your instructor, and submit a finalized report for the final project in Module Seven.
Key Considerations: Summarize the key considerations of the project, being sure to identify your chosen location.

For example, what are the must-haves? What are the constraints? In this section, you will:

Determine the appropriate communications media and mode of data transport for the new network.
This could be an opportunity to explain the OSI stack in relation to a modern communications network.
Identify the common network hardware components for this new location.

Describe the important IP range considerations for a company of your size.
LAN topology
Describe possible LAN topologies that could be used at the new location that support the desired architecture.

Compare the identified LAN topology possibilities based on their relative strengths and weaknesses in regard to support practices.

Based on your comparison, determine the appropriate LAN topology for this location to allow for optimal support practices. Be sure to explain your reasoning.

Work must be submitted as a 1 to 2-page Microsoft Word document with double spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, and one-inch margins. Sources should be cited according to APA style.

Reading: As We Have Always Done

For the Review, answer the following 4 questions:

– Who is the author and their connections to the Native Nation(s) of the work/American Indian Studies?

– Where/When does it take place (and some historical context of this place and time)?

– What is the main point(s) and/or argument(s) the author makes?

– Why is this work important for our class and for Native scholars, Nations, and AIS?

Treat these as semi-professional reviews (complete sentences, essay form, and proper citations), and will potentially have to do additional out-of-class research to properly answer the questions on each reading/viewing’s author, Native Nation, and historical context(s). Additionally, you will need to include specific details and quotes for each Review, and any missing or inaccurate information will lower your letter grade. For this assignment, a ‘reading’ includes all chapters, poems, etc. from a single author assigned for one day. These reading/viewing reviews must be at least 300 words and include a Works Cited Page with full and proper citations.
