450+ words
Purpose:Narrative writing (storytelling) is a main form of academic writing. Narrative is a genre of writing and is also a part of every other form of writing. For example, in a lab report, you are telling the story of what you did, how you did it, and the results of what happened in the lab during the experiment. In a research paper, you are telling the story about your research project – what you did, why you did it, how you did it, and what you found out. In this paper, we are practicing writing concise and precise sentences with specific details. We are practicing the genre of narrative writing, which includes organizing your story, usually chronologically, and then having a “lesson” or main point learned or insight from your story. Always, your story has to have a purpose or point. Great writing is purposeful and communicates clearly with your audience.

Audience:For this paper, your audience is anyone who is interested in the topic of relationships, such as college students, teachers, parents, psychologists, etc.

Task:Write a narrative essay that tells a story of a lesson that you learned either from a relationship or about relationships. The essay should have both a story of a specific event & a description of what you learned. The story can be about interpersonal relationships in school or out of school. It can also be about your relationship with studying or another aspect of your life.
