Do you think that, today, this idea of God as an infinitely “perfect” being is still alive? What does this concept mean to you — even if you personally don’t believe it? Do you think that the concept of “proof” makes sense? If not, then is it all just “faith”? What’s the difference between “faith” and “reason”? Must faith and reason remain separate?

Play Report and/or Term Paper
Assignment guidelines
Play Report and/or Term Paper:
I am interested in YOUR opinion and reaction to the chosen
play. Analyze, don’t summarize.
For the play report: You are required to see a play of your choice either Broadway, off-Broadway, or Off-Off-Broadway and write a 2-page critique. Support your analysis and/or
criticism with as many examples from the play as possible. Choose one or two production
elements such as acting, directing, set, or light or costume design and talk about them in detail.
Do not attempt to write about all aspects of production in a short paper. This will result into a
very shallow and sketchy report.
For your term paper on one of the plays read in class, choose a topic discussed in class, of either
practical nature – acting, directing, design – or of a more theoretical nature suggested in the play
such as theme, characterization, structure, genre.
Both, the report and the paper are not intended to be research papers. Do not compare or
contrast them with pre-existing academic or theoretical materials. Instead, the papers should
reflect your own personal thinking and interest provoked by the production you saw or the play
you read in class.
2. Creative Project (in place of a term paper):
The purpose of this project is to give you a practical, “hands-on” approach to theatre and offer
a chance to put your creative ability to use. Areas for your creative project to choose from can
be:
a) Acting – a brief MEMORIZED scene or monologue using minimal props and suggestive
costumes. If you choose a scene, you must collaborate with a classmate.
b) Directing – a brief scene involving no more than two actors with a written outline of your
directorial concept and using minimal props and costumes. Again, you must use your
classmates as your actors.
c) Designing – come up with your own design concept (sets, lights, or costumes) and provide
photos, or drawings, or renderings, or fabric, or collage of the visual elements you want to see
on stage.
Be prepared to give a brief oral presentation in class and explain your design concept.
Discuss how the article relates back to the themes and concepts covered in that unit. If you don’t see how the article and unit are related, you’re missing something and should go back and review.
Conformity and Conflict #7: “Conversation Style: Talking on the Job” by Deborah Tannen
Give a brief summary of the article’s topic. What is the point the author(s) is trying to make? What evidence or information do they use to support their argument? DO NOT USE THE SUMMARY FROM THE TEXT. This should be one full paragraph in length. (20%)
Discuss how the article relates back to the themes and concepts covered in that unit. If you don’t see how the article and unit are related, you’re missing something and should go back and review. Ask yourself questions like: How does the article illustrate the major topics/concepts/ideas from the sources we covered in the unit? How do they expand upon what we talked about in class? What key terms does this article illustrate? This is the most important part of this assignment and it is where most of your points will come from. Be specific. Use specific terms and concepts from class sources (the PowerPoint lectures and/or optional textbook chapters). This should be one full paragraph in length. (40%)
Conformity and Conflict #7: “Conversation Style: Talking on the Job” by Deborah Tannen
Come up with one open ended question per article concerning a concept or idea you read in that article. This question should not be answered with a “yes/no,” but instead is meant to foster conversation about the topic you decide to focus on. Your discussion question can be based on an aspect of the article that you found particularly interesting, poignant, accurate, wrong, confusing, controversial, in need of more clarification, and/or in need of a better example. (50%)
After you have posted your own Discussion question, you will then need to respond to another student’sDiscussion question with one medium sized paragraph in length. (50%)
What was your reaction to the reading? Was it successful in getting its point across? How does this relate to what is going on in the world or your personal experiences? This should be one full paragraph in length. (20%)

Social Injustices and Social Work Ethic
In “The Case for Reparations,” Coates (2014) argues that systemic racism has persisted throughout American history because it has been a key function of American democracy, all the way from the nation’s origins through to the present day. What is your reaction to his thesis? Using this week’s readings, suggest at least two strengths-based, macro-level strategies for confronting the social, economic, and cultural injustices depicted in his essay. In your discussion post, cite specific principles from the Social Work Code of Ethics to support your position. After completing the activities this week, you should be able to:
Articulate how social work ethical principles and standards are employed to influence practice in the macro social environment.
Identify and relate the history, major assumptions, ideologies, and values of ecosystems theory to contemporary social work practice.
Reflect on the ways in which privileged narratives, ideologies, and socially-sanctioned biases (i.e. racism, sexism, homophobia, socioeconomic inequalities) have historically influenced clients’ well-being at the individual and community level.
Develop a context-informed strategy for incorporating an appreciation for human diversity; recognition of groups’ and communities’ strengths and resiliencies; and a commitment to confront systemic oppression into one’s identity as a social work professional.

Amazon’s financial Analysis
Part a (800 words)
Critically evaluate the capital structure of Amazon and discuss whether this capital structure is aligned to Amazon’s strategic goals. For example, does your organisation have a greater degree of debt or equity (or its equivalent in the case of not for profit or public sector organisations) and how does this impact upon the gearing of the organisation? You should also consider how the organisation views risk and return (or its equivalent in the case of not for profit or public sector organisations).
Part b (800 words)
Critically assess Amazon’s financial performance and its overall approach to managing stakeholders expectations. This should include some interpretation of the financial statements and any other information you consider relevant.
Part c (400 words)
Discuss how the issues you have explained in part a) and part b) above might be addressed in terms of improvements or recommendations. How might your recommendations result in more effective financial decision making for your chosen organisation?
Change is inevitable in healthcare and in nursing. When thinking of the change process, what is the role of the nurse leader/manager in the change process? What impact does change have within health care organizations as a whole?
