The writing process is an iterative one—first, write an initial draft (based on the requirements set out in the detailed instructions), then, write a final draft.
First Draft—Format: APA Essay; Length: 3-4 pages; Due: End of July 6.
Final Draft—Format: APA Essay; Length: 6-7 pages; Due: End of July 27.

The migrant crisis represents the greatest contemporary challenge to the stability of the European Union. Discuss.
Below the comments that I received for my essay so I will need some help to restructure it to fit into the critireas shared by the instructor.
The essay shows some understanding of
the themes and concepts covered in the module, but insufficient ability to
apply them to answer the question chosen. The essay does not answer the question that ask you to discuss
if the migration crisis represents the greatest challenge to the stability of
the EU. In order to answer it, you should have presented the other side of the
argument. Moreover, you could have compared the impact of the migration crisis
with the one of other issues that pose a threat to the stability of the EU.
The assignment
contains some interesting points on migration, but it tends to be extremely
descriptive. The argument is not sufficiently developed and not clearly
presented. I strongly encourage you to work more on this point.

self-assessment of leadership
1. My Leadership Action Plan 60%
Complete a self-assessment of your own leadership practices and behaviours. Do this in the context of a reflective journal, based on class discussions, topics, readings, feedback and lessons learned. Focus particularly on your results from the 360° feedback you received from the Leadership Practices Inventory and the report you received on DISC from Dr Light. Other sessions on Innovation/Design Thinking, Change Management etc will help you revisit previously held ideas or behaviours. No more than 1500 words are expected. The primary focus of the reflective journal is to help you create your own “road map” of actions, behavioural changes, communications styles and plans to help you become more effective and enduring leader, in whatever settings you wish to engage. You may find that as you reflect over the course of the Summer School programme, that your goals, priorities and action may well have changed. You should not be concerned about this. Consider the results of DISC so you can help shape the way you work with others in the future.
There are a number of things you should consider in preparing this Action Plan:
1. You should draw on some of the scholarly literature on leadership and management provided during the week and in your readings.
Suggested Reading List:
Johnson, C. E. (2012). Meeting the ethical challenges of leadership: Casting light or shadow (4th ed.). Thousand Oaks, CA: Sage
Kouzes J. & Posner B The Leadership Challenge, 6th ed. San Francisco: John Wiley
2. Consider the leadership and managerial exercises we will use, the lectures and the coaching feedback.
3. When considering the behaviours and practices you believe you should focus on, get validation from your fellow students and other work mentors, colleagues or your own “kitchen cabinet”.

Each answer should be approximately 1 page long, double-spaced. Provide original examples to help clarify definitions or concepts. If you use outside references (which you should) include them on a separate reference section sheet (as well as referencing them in your answer).
You will be marked on the following:
accuracy of your answer
completeness of your answer
the degree to which your answer is original (does not quote the text; adds examples)
your use of outside resources/references when needed (IMPORTANT: Use APA format to cite your references and have a reference page at the end of each assignment.)
Each question will be out of 10 points. Here is what certain scores mean:
6/10 — Most basic points are there but no examples or applications or thoughts beyond what is directly in the text. Some minor points may be missing.
7/10 — All points, major and minor, are included in the answer.
8/10 — All points are included in the answer and there is some original contribution.
9-10/10 — Not only is the question answered but the student also makes the effort to take it beyond the text and ties in materials from elsewhere.
Thrill seeking is something most of us do at some level. Interview five people you know to find ONE thrill seeking behaviour they do and ask them questions about the behaviour. With each person’s thrill seeking behaviour, describe the behaviour and relate how the behaviour makes them feel to see if it fits in with the opponent-process theory. Summarize your findings to conclude if the opponent-process theory did or did not relate to most of the behaviours.
Some of our behaviours can be better understood using achievement motivation theory as proposed by Atkinson. For this question I want you to identify one achievement–related situation you tend to approach and one achievement-related situation you tend to avoid. Use the terms from the theory (Ms, Maf, Ps, Is) to explain the reason for your behaviour. Include any past details of failures or success if needed. ASIDE: Please do not disclose any details from your life you feel are too private. I would rather you make up an example if you were worried about this.
Cognitive dissonance occurs when the facts don’t conform with our beliefs. In the news there have been a lot of negative stories about celebrities that people used to admire (Louis C.K. Bill Cosby, Kevin Spacey, to name a few). Using what we know about cognitive dissonance, what are three likely reactions to people who are huge fans of these celebrities after they hear the negative news about them? Make sure you use the concepts associated with the theory and relate them to your example.
Attribution Analysis of Current News Events: Find a news release of a current event. It could be from a newspaper, magazine, or the Internet. Make sure to include it or describe it so I know what you are referring to. Try to determine the attribution involved. Was it due to dispositional (internal) motives or situational (external) motives? Provide full explanations for your reasoning.
