What material should be included under each section of a case analysis?

Question
What material should be included under each section of a case analysis?
Answer
A properly developed case requires more than the student responding to the questions in the text. What is required is research into the issue, Therefore it is required that you develop an understanding as to the underlying reality of the situation, develop a thesis as to what you are going to study, Test that thesis, arrive at a Conclusion and Recommendation The sections are:
Background. Starting with case in the text, but going beyond it, develop information from on-line sources. This will include background information on the company involved, the issues they are confronted with that resulted in the case and any other relevant information one needs to know that will allow a fair judging of the case as you present it.
Objective What is the purpose of your effort. It is best stated as a thesis or hypothesis to be tested. Include also any corollaries to the thesis that you will discuss.
Procedures How did you go about the process of building the Background, establishing an Objective, gather data and analyzing same. Also. What limitations do you believe exist that the reader should know about?
Findings This is where you present your analysis of the data you collected. Most normally it will be in the form of answers to the questions raised in the case in the text … but, it could be more extended. Particularly since you have studied the situation and know more than what is presented in the case write up.
Summary of Findings The key elements of the Findings. It is in fact a distillation of the Findings. In your report it will be placed just prior to the Findings.
Conclusions Having summarized your Findings, you are now in a position to arrive at the Conclusion. Did data cause you to accept or reject the thesis and why.
Recommendation An action statement. Given your conclusion, what do you recommend the company do to optimize their position and why you say that
Also, make sure to include a Table of Contents and a Bibliography

What are your initial or gut feelings, and why do you feel as you do?

Before you submit the Evaluation Invention activity due Saturday, contribute at least one new thread and at least two replies to this forum:
In a new thread discuss the subject(s) you’re thinking about evaluating. Put that subject in your subject line. If you know for sure what you want to evaluate, write a paragraph explaining why you want to write about it and what makes it a good topic for you. If you’re deciding between topics, list some pros and cons of writing about each one.
In replies to at least two classmates’ threads, share what interests you or concerns you about your partners’ subjects. Also explain what criteria you’d expect your classmate to cover in an evaluation of that subject. For example, in a review of a science fiction novel, I’d want to hear about how unique or surprising the plot is; how complex and likeable the characters are; how richly the setting is developed; and how much scientific detail the writer goes into–as well as comparisons to other well-known science fiction books.

Write answers to the following questions to begin generating text. Much of it may be used later as you draft your paper, but don’t worry about that now. Use these exercises to help you get your ideas down.
Explore what you already know. Freewrite to answer the following questions: What do you know about this subject? What are your initial or gut feelings, and why do you feel as you do? How does this subject reflect or affect your basic values or beliefs?
Identify criteria. Make a list of criteria you think should be used to evaluate your subject. Think about which criteria will likely be important to your audience.
Evaluate your subject. Study your subject closely to determine to what extent it meets each of your criteria. You may want to list your criteria and take notes related to each one. You may develop a rating scale for each criterion to help stay focused on it. Come up with a tentative judgment. Choose 3-4 criteria to discuss in your essay.
Compare your subject with others. Often, evaluating something involves comparing and contrasting it with similar things. We judge movies in comparison with other movies we’ve seen in a similar genre, for example.
State your judgment as a tentative thesis statement. Your thesis statement should be one that addresses both pros and cons. “Hawaii Five-O is fun to watch despite its stilted dialogue”; “Of the three sport utility vehicles tested, the Toyota 4 Runner emerged as the best in comfort, power, and durability though not in styling or cargo capacity.” Both of these examples offer a judgment but qualify it according to the writer’s criteria. Experiment with thesis statements and highlight one you want to use.
Anticipate other opinions. I think Will Ferrell is a comic genius whose movies are first-rate. You think Will Ferrell is a terrible actor who makes awful movies. How can I write a review of his latest film that you will at least consider? One way is by acknowledging other opinions–and refuting those opinions as best I can. I may not persuade you to see Ferrell’s next film, but I can at least demonstrate that by certain criteria he should be appreciated. You may need to talk to friends or family members to find out how others have evaluated your subject.
Identify and support your reasons. Write out all the reasons you can think of that will convince your audience to accept your judgment. Review your list to identify the most convincing or important reasons. Then review how well your subject meets your criteria and decide how best to support your reasons; through examples, authoritative opinions, statistics, visual or audio evidence, or something else.

Define the type of therapeutic treatment or intervention that occurred.

Research based interventions
Terms
Definitions
Peer-reviewed study
Peer review refers to a study that has been accepted by a standard journal using blind review by peers in the field. This means that every study should have a fair access to publication based upon quality of the study.
Type of study
Types of studies can include experimental, case study, longitudinal, cross-sectional, survey, and so forth.
Measurement or assessment tools
A measurement tool is a means that the researchers used to measure or assess the variables under study. Did the study develop assessment tools? Did the study use objective measurement tools? Can the measurement tools be found and used by another researcher? Are the instruments valid and reliable?
Number of participants
This refers to how many participants were in the study.
How they were selected
Selection process can include the means of recruitment of participants; what was the sampling method or strategy? Describe the population. This could be clients or college students. Indicate sample size.
Number of groups
Was there a control group? The control group does not receive the treatment. Do these participants have the same characteristics and diagnosis as the experimental group participants?
How they were assigned
Were they matched or randomly assigned to one the conditions, or groups, in the study?
What type of intervention was delivered
Define the type of therapeutic treatment or intervention that occurred.
How the intervention was delivered
Were there therapists? Were the therapists trained to deliver the treatment? Was the study a drug study? Was it double-blind?
Were there repeated measures
In this area, we are looking at whether the study found the subjects 6 months or 1 year after the conclusion of the study. Was there a difference between the experimental and control participants at the follow up? We are looking at whether the treatment effect lasts over time.
Write on:
Anxiety Disorder

Prepare a 1,050- to 1,400-word paper that discusses research-based interventions to treat psychopathology.

Review and differentiate the characteristics of the selected disorder as well as discuss the research about intervention strategies for the disorder by completing the following:
Evaluate three peer reviewed research studies using the Research Analysis document.
Conceptualize the disorder using one of the psychological perspectives listed in the text.
Discuss the treatments or interventions that have been shown to be the most effective for your selected disorder. Why are they effective?

Cite at least five peer-reviewed sources.

Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines.

Describe the Civil Rights Movements, Counterculture Movement, and the Vietnam War in the United States from the 1950s to the late 1960s.

Describe the Civil Rights Movements, Counterculture Movement, and the Vietnam War in the United States from the 1950s to the late 1960s. What social and economic tensions existed? What caused these tensions? Be Sure to mention the 1968 election.

review Chapters25, and 26 in Oakes et al., Of The People and write a five paragraph reflection essay that addresses the following prompt:

What is the basic difference in the judicial approach of Justice Scalia and Justice Breyer.

Watch the video below. For the best students, watch the whole video. What is the basic difference in the judicial approach of Justice Scalia and Justice Breyer. How does each understand the nature of the Constitution and how does each think it needs to be read. As you listen, find two concrete cases or issues they discuss and describe the issue and their different approach to the issue. Finally, as you listen, which justice do you find yourself agreeing with more. Why?
Scalia/Breyer on the Constitution
Do not cut and paste anything from the Internet without quotations or proper citation – this is plagiarism. Everything not quoted or cited must be in your own words. Make sure to write a 250-300 word post and to reply to at least one other student with a 100-word response.

Explain how you might use the quadratic pass method, outlined in the video, to minimize contact switches between these tasks.

In our fast-paced world, the term multitasking is often thrown around. Why just answer emails when you can answer emails and, at the same time, watch television with your spouse? Many assume that doing multiple tasks simultaneously allows one to finish tasks sooner, allowing for more time to rest or enjoyable activities. However, this is not likely the case.
For this Discussion, you explore the quadratic pass method—a mathematical process for improving the management of your time.
To prepare for this Discussion:
Review the video on how to manage your time more effectively according to machines.
Think about four to eight (4–8) tasks you perform daily.
Consider how you might use the quadratic pass method, from the video, to minimize contact switches between these tasks. How might this method help you better manage your time?
Think about whether you feel it is possible to eliminate all contact switches in your daily tasks.
Think about how you would rank the tasks you selected in order of importance. What does your ranked task list look like?
Reflect on why you chose to rank the tasks in the order you did.
Think about your tasks based on the quadratic pass method. Consider how much longer it might take you to complete these tasks if they are completed in random or chronological order rather than ranking them first.

Note: The approximate length of this media piece is 5 minutes.
Post at least 2 paragraphs responding to the following prompts:
Paragraph 1:
Briefly outline four to eight (4–8) tasks you perform daily.
Explain how you might use the quadratic pass method, outlined in the video, to minimize contact switches between these tasks.
Explain why this method might help you better manage your time.
Explain whether you feel, in your case, it is possible to eliminate all contact switches to one set schedule. Why, or why not?
Paragraph 2:
Describe how you ranked the tasks you selected, in Part 1, in order of importance using the ranking method. What does your task list look like after ranking it?
Explain why you chose to rank the tasks in the order you did.
Explain how much longer it would take you to complete your task list if you chose to rank them first versus completing them in random or chronological order.
