Case Study Presentation
Goal:
To conduct an assessment of health
promotion while applying the nursing process and evidence based research
to disseminate findings to course colleagues.
Case:
Jessica is a 32 y/old math teacher who
presents to the ER with a friend for evaluation of sudden decrease of
vision in the left eye. She denies any trauma or injury. It started this
morning when she woke up and has progressively worsened over the past
few hours. She had some blurring of her vision 1 month ago and thinks
that may have been related to getting overheated, since it improved when
she was able to get in a cool, air-conditioned environment. She has
some pain if she tries to move her eye, but none when she just rests.
She is also unable to determine colors. She denies tearing or redness or
exposure to any chemicals. Nothing has made it better or worse.
She denies fever, chills, night sweats,
weight loss, fatigue, headache, changes in hearing, sore throat, nasal
or sinus congestion, neck pain or stiffness, chest pain or palpitations,
shortness of breath or cough, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation,
dysuria, vaginal discharge, swelling in the legs, polyuria, polydipsia,
and polyphagia.
Patient is alert; she appears anxious. BP
135/85 mm Hg; HR 64bpm and regular, RR 16 per minute, T: 98.5F. Visual
acuity 20/200 in the left eye and 20/30 in the right eye. Sclera white,
conjunctivae clear. Unable to assess visual fields in the left side;
visual fields on the right eye are intact. Pupil response to light is
diminished in the left eye and brisk in the right eye. The optic disc is
swollen. Full range of motions; no swelling or deformity. Mental
status: Oriented x 3. Cranial nerves: I-XII intact; horizontal nystagmus
is present. Muscles with normal bulk and tone; Normal finger to nose,
negative Romberg. Intact to temperature, vibration, and two-point
discrimination in upper and lower extremities. Reflexes: 2+ and
symmetric in biceps, triceps, brachioradialis, patellar, and Achiles
tendons; no Babinski.

Power point presentation with 8 -10 slides, excluding the tile slide and the reference slide.
The presentation is clear and concise and students will lose points for improper grammar, punctuation, APA and misspelling.
Speaker notes expanded upon and clarified content on the slides.
Your presentation will be shared with class colleagues during the ZOOM meeting.
Grading Rubric
Your assignment will be graded according to the grading rubric.

1. Explain the role of the community health nurse in partnership with community stakeholders for population health promotion. Explain why it is important to appraise community resources (nonprofit, spiritual/religious, etc.) as part of a community assessment and why these resources are important in population health promotion (250 word counts with 2 sources (peer review)).

2. Discuss how geopolitical and phenomenological place influence the context of a population or community assessment and intervention. Describe how the nursing process is utilized to assist in identifying health issues (local or global in nature) and in creating an appropriate intervention, including screenings and referrals, for the community or population (250 word counts with 2 peer review cite).

Sources can be either peer review or journal that are no more than 5 years old.

Week 10 Assignment – Final Business Plan Presentation
Overview
Business plans provide the information funding sources need to determine whether or not they will invest in your business. For your final assignment, you will prepare a slide presentation with speaker’s notes such as you would use if presenting in person to the funding decision maker you identified in your Obtaining Start-Up Funds assignment. In your presentation, you will need to convince your funding source to provide the funds that your business needs. Your presentation will expand on the outline you created in the Week 4 homework, incorporate the feedback from each of the previous assignments, and include an executive summary, an exit strategy, speaker notes, plus title and sources slides.
Instructions
Address the following in your presentation:
Include speaker notes to accompany each slide that emphasizes and expands on the key points to the stakeholders. Please be clear and thorough as if you were presenting to the investor in person.
Create a one- or two-slide executive summary that is an at-a-glance overview of your business plan as a whole. It should touch on your company profile and goals, as well as each of the heading topics in your outline, including the business model, target market, and funding.
Tip: Create your executive summary after you finish building the presentation.
Create one- or two-slides that expand on each of the topic headings that you provided in your outline from the Week 4 homework activity, Business Plan Outline.
For the Business Model slide, incorporate the feedback you received from the assignment, Business Models, to describe your selected business model, and explain why you chose it.
