Critical Perspectives on Terrorism and Couter Terrorism
A piece of intelligence is passed on to HKSAR Government by the
UK Government.
Intelligence
Various sources of intelligence from MI5 suggested that several small
groups of UK Foreign Fighter (FF), (IS (Islamic State) terrorist training
camp trained UK Muslims, and Mujahideen, (Jihadist in the Afghan War
against the invading Soviet forces and the Bosnian War in fights against
Serb and Croat forces), accused the Beijing government of persecution
and torturing the Uyghurs at the “re-education” camps in Xinjiang, China.
These groups of FF and Mujahideen are sympathetic towards the
Uyghurs in China declaring to support the Eastern Turkistan Islamic
Movement (ETIM) to violently resist against the Chinese government.
According to the reliable intelligence, some members of these groups
would fly to Hong Kong to carry out a series of terrorist attacks since
Hong Kong is an open metropolitan city amongst all the China’s
developed cities. The attacks would be a form of retaliation to punish the
Chinese government with a view to defending the ethnic of Muslims in
China. However, at this stage, the UK MI5 is unable to identify any
individual terrorists (FF or Mujahideen) nor to ascertain the time of the
possible terrorist attack would take place in Hong Kong.

2. Why did you choose this theory over the others?
3. What will be the goals of counseling and what intervention strategies are used to accomplish those goals?
4. Is the theory designed for short- or long-term counseling?
5. What will be the counselor’s role with this client?
6. What is the client’s role in counseling?
7. For what population(s) is this theory most appropriate? How does this theory address the social and cultural needs of the client?
8. What additional information might be helpful to know about this case?
9. What may be a risk in using this approach?
—
There needs to be an introduction and a conclusion.
—
You do not have to do “Why did you choose this theory over the others”.
—
Please find attached an essay similar to how the final product should look like (Jungian Theory), how the analysis should work without generalizations (Psychoanalytic Theory) and the case study analysis needed for the essay itself (T1 Case Study Analysis).

Identify and explain two (2) points in “The Failures of Leaders” article that differ from the ideas in the materials we have read so far in this class.
Your grade for this assignment will be based on the insights you provide, and the degree to which you incorporated into your paper ideas in “The Failures of Leaders” article AND the ideas in our readings. However, avoid merely copying quotes from the Ray Blunt article; be sure that your paper is written in your own words — as highlighted in the grading rubric, you should use direct quotes judiciously to support (rather than in place of) your explanation and analysis.
Your paper needs to be in the form of an essay — this means that you will need to include a title page, introduction, section headings (for each topic addressed in the paper), conclusion, and a References page [see the mail message sent out the first week of class, which includes a sample paper]. Be sure that your paper fully explains the ideas presented, using points from the article, as well as the required readings (and/or other appropriate sources). Citations within the text must be properly presented in APA form.
