From what I am understanding from reading the textbook there are many kinds of reporting’s that need to be done for certain situations or incidents: child and senior abuse, communicable diseases, drug reactions, and physician competency. The reporting requirements for child abuse are an oral report need to be made immediately following the incident and a written report. According to the book the reports must be in good faith belief, meaning that what you are reporting needs to be true and not false information (Pozgar, 2019, p. 503).
The reporting requirements for senior abuse is to know the warning signs because it can be difficult in that of an elderly person. From the textbook the warning signs are “frequent arguments or tension, sudden changes in the elder’s financial condition, changes in the elder’s personality or behavior, visible injuries such as broken bones, cuts, scars, and bed sores” (Pozgar, 2019, p. 506). To report this, there must be a witness to the abuse and possible photographs of wounds and injuries for the emergency room or police. Nurses and doctors must observe and understand their patients.
The reporting requirements for communicable diseases is if it is actual or suspected cases they need to be reported to the CDC. For HIV reporting according to the textbook, “providers and labs must let the HIV positive patient know to let their sexual or needle sharing partners to seek help from public officials” (Pozgar, 2019, p. 507).
The reporting requirements for drug reactions is to report to the FDA. Any reactions to food, product quality problems, and product use errors with human medical products is to be reported (Pozgar, 2019, p. 508).
The reporting requirements for physician competency stated in the textbook are, “applicable to hospitals, healthcare entities, boards of medical examiners, professional societies of physicians, dentists, or other healthcare practitioners to take adverse licensure or professional review actions and individuals and entities making payments as a result of medical malpractice actions or claims” (Pozgar, 2019, p. 509).

What Chemotherapeutic agents are recommended? Mechanism of action for these
chemotherapeutic agents. Why this agent is efficacious against this organism? Additional
therapeutic agents or practices if any. This could include supportive care.
Clinical Relevance:
Are there any Multi-Drug Resistant strains of this microorganism? If so, name the strain(s). Is
this strain a known healthcare-associated pathogen? Which persons/procedures within a clinical
or healthcare-assisted settings are particularly at risk? Which antibiotics are used against the
MDR strains? Be specific.

There are many different theories on what causes a person to perform deviant behaviors, including biological explanations, sociological explanations and psychological explanations.
Psychological Theories of Deviance use a deviant’s psychology to explain his or her motivation or compulsion to violate social norms.
Sociological Theories of deviance are those that use social context and social pressures to explain deviance.
Biological Theories of deviance proposes that an individual deviates from social norms largely because of their biological makeup.

Social Strain Theory was developed in 1938 by American Sociologist, Robert K. Merton. This theory states that social structures within society may pressure citizens to commit crimes. “Strain” refers to the discrepancies between culturally defined goals and the institutionalized means available to these goals. Strain can be considered structural, which refers to the processes at the societal
level that filters down and affect how the individual perceives his or her needs; or strain can be individual, which refers to the frictions and pains experienced by an individual as he or she looks for ways to satisfy individual needs. Merton proposed a typology (the systematic classification of the types of something according to their common characteristics) of deviance based upon two criteria: 1. A person’s motivations or his adherence to cultural goals; 2. A person’s belief in how to attain his goals. These two types of strain can insinuate social structures within society that then pressure people to become criminals (LibreTexts, 2020).
According to Merton, there are five types of deviance based upon these two criteria: conformity, innovation, ritualism, retreatism and rebellion:
Conformity involves the acceptance of the cultural goals and means of attaining those goals.
Innovation involves the acceptance of the goals of a culture but the rejection of the traditional and/or legitimate means of attaining those goals.
Ritualism involves the rejection of cultural goals but the routinized acceptance of the means for achieving the goals.
Retreatism involves the rejection of both the cultural goals and the traditional means of achieving those goals.
Rebellion is a special case wherein the individual rejects both the cultural goals and traditional means of achieve them but actively attempts to replace both elements of the society with different goals and means.
