the success of mental health parole and how mental health as a whole tends to be looked over and proper treatment continues to fall by the waist side with probation.

Note
that references used for your research need to be
peer-reviewed/scholarly journals and must have been published within the
past 5-10 years of the present date. Peer-reviewed journal articles
typically include the following:

1. Articles are reviewed by a panel of experts before they are accepted for publication
2. Articles are written by a scholar or specialist in the field
3. Articles report on original research or experimentation
4. Are often published by professional associations
5. Utilize terminology associated with the discipline

Research Paper Assignment: You must submit an 8-10 page research paper (excluding the
title page, reference page(s), abstract). Your paper MUST be in APA
Format (7th Edition). See attached Sample APA 7th Edition paper.

Choose a
topic of interest to you that relates specifically to this course. I
recommend selecting a topic that you have limited knowledge about, but
you are nonetheless interested in learning more about that topic. Your
topic must be approved in advance with a brief explanation as to why you
chose the topic, along with your plan of what you intended to learn
from your research, by the end of week 2. Submission of a paper on a
topic that was not approved in advance by your instructor may result in a
failing grade.

You are to use the APUS library’s database to find at least five, peer-reviewed articles
published within the past 5-10 years that addresses your chosen topic.
Again, you are required to use scholarly, peer-reviewed journals,
in-text citations, and provide a reference page for this paper. All
assignments must be in MS Word format, double-spaced, using a Times New
Roman 12-point font, and uploaded to Turnitin, which will assess your
paper for originality. The lower the score, the better. To minimize high
originality scores, you are to paraphrase and cite as opposed to using
direct quotes. If you must quote, do so sparingly, limit the quote to a
few words, and include the page / paragraph number of where the quote
originated. You must submit an original paper. Recycled work from this
class or any other class in whole or in part of any kind is prohibited,
and may be grounds for disciplinary action. If in doubt, contact your
instructor.

Again, I cannot emphasize enough the importance of:
Properly citing and referencing in APA format – 7th Edition.

All research must have been published within the past 5-10 years.

Border And Coastal Security

The
topic, research question, and hypothesis for your research paper can be
anything pertaining to border and coastal security. Once you have
decided on a topic, develop a research question and hypothesis to
support it. There is no need to submit your question and hypothesis for
“approval”.
Paper Format:
Cover Page
Introduction (include the specific research question and hypothesis which are presented at the end)
Literature
Review – Critical analysis is the key here. This is NOT an annotated
bibliography but an undergraduate Lit Review. Remember to write group
sources by themes and use level 2 headings.
Methodology
(This needs to more than a single sentence that states “I used
qualitative methods”. Take the time to explore what type of qualitative
method you used…. Content Analysis and Case Study are the two approaches
that seem most likely for this course.
Analysis – What does your research tell you? What are your conclusions??
Conclusion – ensure you include what future research should cover that has not been explored.
Reference List
Technical Requirements
Your paper must be at a minimum of 10-12 pages (the Title and Reference pages do not count towards the minimum limit).
Scholarly
and credible references should be used. A good rule of thumb is at
least 2 scholarly sources per page of content. However, a minimum of 10 scholarly sources are required.
Type in Times New Roman, 12 point and double space.
Students will follow the current APA Style as the sole citation and reference style used in written work submitted as part of coursework.
Points
will be deducted for the use of Wikipedia or encyclopedic type sources.
It is highly advised to utilize books, peer-reviewed journals,
articles, archived documents, etc.
All submissions will be graded using the assignment rubric.

Critical infrastructure protection

You
must use the template I provided for this assignment since it will make
it a lot easier for you. Failure to do so will result in a return of
your paper for you to redo, a reduction in points, or both. I strongly
recommend that you simply download it and then upload it under a
different name, such as your last name, course number, and assignment
number.
Scenario:
River is enjoying working in the section and asked you to provide some
more information on the critical infrastructures you two have been
talking about. You already had a good discussion on three more of the
critical infrastructures. Determine the ones from your most recent three
discussions that you did not discuss yet. Determine
which one of them you will use to discuss a physical attack, which one
for a cyber event, and the remaining one for a natural disaster.
River
asked you to keep the format the same as last time since it worked
really good in explaining various aspects of the critical
infrastructures. You determined to use the following outline for each of
the three sections (plus the overarching requirements):
Description of a Hypothetical Threat (physical, cyber, or natural disaster)
Brief background on the Critical Infrastructure as it relates to National Security
Elaborate on the known Risks/Threats/Hazards/Vulnerabilities from the Hypothetical Threat
Explain
how damage to the Hypothetical Threat could impact the
Dependencies/Interdependencies between critical infrastructure sectors
Existing Resiliency related to Continuity of Operations
Consider how to Minimize Disruption that improves First Responder Safety.
Technical Requirements
Your
paper must be at least 6 pages – 2 pages per critical infrastructure
discussed (the Title, Abstract, and Reference pages do not count towards
the minimum limit).
Scholarly and/or credible references should be used. A good rule of thumb is at least two sources per page of content.
Type in Times New Roman, 12 point, and double-spaced.
Students will
follow the current APA Style as the sole citation and reference style
used in written work submitted as part of coursework.
Points
will be deducted for the use of Wikipedia or encyclopedic-type sources.
It is highly advised to utilize books, peer-reviewed journals,
articles, archived documents, etc.
All submissions will be graded using the assignment rubric.

6-2 Journal: Applying Your Learning

Overview: This journal offers the opportunity to reflect on what you have learned and how you will
integrate the feedback you have received and into your final
film study.
Prompt: Learning is
essentially about changing behavior—knowledge, skills, or attitudes. What changes have you
experienced in what you know, feel, or can do

time to think about what you have learned and how it can apply to your final project. Be sure to
address cultural relativism and anthropological concepts.
Be sure that your journal includes each of
the following critical elements:
 Learning: Identify what you have learned by discussing changes in what you know, feel, and/or
can do as a result of this course. What specific course
concepts have you been able to apply in your daily life? Be sure to address cultural relativism and anthropological concepts in your discussion.
 Application to Film Study: Discuss specific ways you can apply what you learned to your film
analysis for the final project.
Guidelines for Submission: Your journal should be written in paragraph

one-inch margins.

M5A1: Case Study: The “Now” Wedding – Part A

It is essential to practice new skills in order to reinforce the concepts and allow you to build experience in the decision-making process. This case was selected as it is non-technical and is applicable to all students since we all have known someone who has gotten married. While we may not have experienced the complications of planning an actual wedding, this case offers you the ability to employ project management skills outside of a work environment. Project management is a collection of skills and techniques that can be used to manage many elements of life.
This assignment considers the information provided in the ‘Now’ Wedding case. It can be found at the end of Chapter 9 of your textbook in the case section after the blue pages. Additional questions have been added, so please use the text only for the case material and not the assignment. The text has both parts A and B, but for this assignment you only need to read part A. To complete the assignment do all of the following:
Read the ‘Now’ Wedding case at the end of Chapter 9.
Create a paper responding to the following questions (ignore the questions in the textbook and only answer these questions):
Using the time estimates offered in the case create a simple timeline/schedule. This need not be detailed, just the basics are sufficient.
Using the estimated costs provided in the case, create a simple budget. Of course, upon review, Dad will comment ‘Oh, boy!’
Are the time and cost estimates reasonable, why or why not? (Note: there is no wrong answer to this question, it is simply a gauge for how you assess each of these elements and not a validator on how much planning should go into or how much money should be spent on a wedding.)
Considering the list of items Lauren and Mom plan for the wedding, identify three key items and provide alternatives that would save cost or time in planning this wedding. Include your rationale for the new options and why each is a better choice than the existing idea they presented in the conversation with Dad.
Considering the list of items Lauren and Mom plan for the wedding, identify a contingency plan for three key items essential to the wedding. The list may not include the three original items you suggested alternates for, but it may include the alternates since you may assume that Lauren loved your suggestions. Why are these items essential to the wedding and therefore in need of a contingency plan?
Be sure to validate your suggestions with quality references. The ability to research any topic necessary is an essential skill of project managers.
Keep the following in mind as you write your paper:
Check spelling and grammar.
Do not use first person (I, we, us, etc.) as it is not scholarly, use third person instead.
Use in-text citation to credit the ideas use in your paper to the original authors.
At least 3 quality references should be used (one may be your textbook).
Write a 3-page paper in Word format. Use the American Psychological Association (APA) style (most current edition) for writing your assignment.

M6A1: Case Study: Tom Bray

This assignment is a case study. You will be presented with information regarding a company facing a situation that requires at least one decision to be made. Using the case details, the course material and your additional research, write a short paper that briefly identifies the issues and proposes a solution that includes the justification for your choice.
This case is titled, Tom Bray. It can be found at the end of Chapter 10 of your textbook in the case section after the blue pages. Additional questions have been added, so please use the text only for the case material and not the assignment. To complete the assignment, do all of the following:
Read 10.2 Tom Bray Case Study at the end of Chapter 10.
Create a paper responding to the following questions. (Ignore the questions in the textbook and only answer these questions):
Critique Tom’s preparation and first encounter with the team. What was successful and what was unsuccessful? Provide suggestions for how Tom can improve relationships with this new team.
Using your suggestions for Tom to improve his relationship with his team, describe a new interaction in which Tom uses your suggestion, and identify how the team members react.
If you were training a new project manager to take over a project like the one Tom Bray is in charge of in the case, what would you tell your employee? Why?
Write a 3 page paper in Word format. Use the American Psychological Association (APA) style (most current edition) for writing your assignment. Keep the following in mind as you write your paper:
