Reflection to given resources, personal connectionon

For each session, you will read/watch (at least) six resources. Four of those resources will be required resources that everyone resources (denoted by being bolded and asterisked below), and the remaining two resources can be selected from the other posted resources.
After completing the readings, share a story from your own life that demonstrates how you understand, connect with, or experience tension around this session’s resources. This assignment reflects our commitment to balancing resources from the shelves (what has been published for others) and resources from our selves (our own experiences and understanding of our own lives). Elements of a story include context (when and where are you and who else is there), and drama (i.e. action, uncertainty, change, and feelings). Your story should comprise of 60-75% of your assignment.
The other 25-40% is explaining how your story connects with the shelf resources. For each reflection, you need to cite and connect to at least three of the ten assigned class readings (at least two required readings and at least one elective reading). Use APA guidelines to include in-text citations and a reference list at the end of your document. As you cite your references, please consider: what specific aspects of the resources are you connecting with? How do these connections leave you feeling? What do these connections or tensions tell you about the broader world? Do NOT summarize the resources. We are most interested in your story and how you are connecting it to our course content.
If you don’t think that you have any stories to tell related to these resources, please share why you believe you don’t have any stories. Is it because your families, communities, or schools never talked about these topics? If so, why do you think that is? Is it because you have never thought about these topics in terms of diversity, equity, and social justice? What would it mean to begin developing stories that support you developing this understanding?
Pre-class reflections should be between 500 and 700 words total.
Reflection assignments are due on Canvas by 11:59 pm Fridays.

Possible Story Stems:
Developmentally, it’s appropriate for parents and adults to have differential power relative to children and youth (e.g., we don’t need affirmative consent from infants to feed them). The question, though, is, what is the right balance? How does this balance change over time? And do people’s other identities shape influence how they are treated as children?

What is a moment in your life where you have appreciated that what you can do or where you can be is changing because of your changing age or life stage?
What is a moment in your life where you have felt the connection or tension of being with others who are either in the same life stage as you or in a different life stage?

The role of photography in marketing and consumerism

-> Every source and information, needs to come from a scholarly source. NO wiki, reddit, quora and other websites that are not scholarly.
-> Main information needs to come from well reviewed books and journals written by experts.
-> Before starting to write it is imperative to follow the advice from this article : https://blogs.bath.ac.uk/academic-and-employability-skills/2020/07/07/writing-your-dissertations-structure-and-sections/
-> The main focus of your research will be on how photography influences our daily lives, choices and desires. One of my lecturers stated that our reality, is structured by our fantasy. We see something, and we want it. Then we buy it, thinking our fantasy will become reality. Photography plays a big part in consumerism, because through images, we see the object and become driven by desire.
-> You’ll
be researching desire and if it is something we’re born with or something that
we are taught through photographs on social media platforms and not only.
-> You
will look into the psychology behind colours and shapes and research how they
affect the cognitive side of the brain. (Marketing psychology)
-> It would be interesting If you could do/research both focus groups
and surveys to find out how people react to different food ads, what is
appealing and what is not.

These are some of the books, I’ve researched and think
would be great for my dissertation, but you can and need to add to those.
1. Kozinets,
R., Patterson, A. and Ashman, R., 2016. Networks of Desire: How Technology
Increases Our Passion to Consume. Journal of Consumer Research.
– This focuses mainly on how technology through media,
photographs and videos/films influences our desires and urge to buy food (but
not only) in particular. In this volume, the authors demonstrate how
“foodporn” has become a real trend, thanks to networks such as: Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest. This
habit, now registered in the majority of people, pushes users to consume more
by being constantly confronted with the sight of food on social networks.
This journal is relevant to my dissertation
because digitization is experiencing a new level of desire. And the adaptation
to screens is changing the desires and impulses of users and are all linked to
photography.

2. Forrester,
M., 2000. Psychology of the image. London: Routledge.
– the book lays out a theoretical framework that combines Charles Peirce’s
semiotic principles, Ervin Goffman’s sociological insights, and Jacques Lacan’s
psychoanalytic theories. These thinkers have had a considerable impact on image
studies in fashion, advertising, photography, cinema studies, and psychology.
The subjects covered are divided into three categories. The first takes into
account mental imagery, which includes sound and dreams. The second looks at
how internal and exterior images, such as the gendered self and social
identity, are intertwined. And the 3rd theme will focus on external pictures,
such as television, film, photography, the computer, and the internet.

3. Schroeder,
J., 2002. Visual Consumption. London: Routledge.
– The image is a significant feature of the
twenty-first-century economy. Photography is an important tool for brand
development since all items are advertised through photographs, and corporate
image is paramount for economic success. In order to build a multidisciplinary,
image-based approach to analysing consumer behaviour, this book draws on art
history, photography, and visual studies. The book contains a series of images
that have been used in different campaigns and deconstructs them, so we can
understand the way photographs are brought into play to influence our desires.

Sexual Expression and Media Regulation comm 315

The use of sexual expression in U.S. advertising can be traced back to the mid-1800s. Manufacturers realized early on that sensual illustrations of women attracted attention and generated sales. The general public since then, however, has had mixed feelings and often fought against the use of provocative, indecent, or even obscene imagery in ads.
Sexual expression as an attention-grabbing strategy is effective and pervasive. The boundaries continue to be pushed in popular TV sitcoms and on Netflix and YouTube, but the internet is largely an untamed territory. While it harbors adult content, the devices to limit minors’ access remain questionable.
In this discussion, consider the use of sexual expression in the media. Think about your own experience as a consumer of goods and media and the advertising campaigns you have seen that use sexual expression. Consider ads for fragrances, beauty products, undergarments, and television shows.
Use the above to answer these questions:
In your initial post, describe the challenges faced by lawmakers and organizations such as the FCC in regulating obscene and indecent content by addressing the following:
Why is defining obscenity and indecency problematic?
What are the consequences of a greater availability of obscene or indecent materials? What are individuals to make of these concerns?
In keeping with the requirements of the First Amendment, what is your assessment of the role of the government and the FCC? Do they play a necessary and appropriate role?

Please use PDF file to answer the two students back with the questions above. This is separate from the Above Post post.

In your responses to two or more peers, address the following:
What important considerations regarding the FCC and obscene and indecent content will you need to be mindful of as a professional communicator?
How do technology and changing sociocultural mores impact what is considered acceptable in the media?
How do ethics and social responsibility impact the regulation of media content?
Please use PDF file to answer the two students back with the questions above. This is separate from the initial post.

Discussion Post – DNP

We have discussed several ways in which the DNP role emphasizes interprofessional collaboration with physicians on the healthcare team. However, there are other members who serve on our patient care teams that we use frequently in decision-making processes.
This week we will discuss how ancillary services such as Registered Dieticians and Nutritionists greatly contribute to our daily practice settings. Think about strategies that have been promoted or implemented in your practice settings involving collaborative efforts with these individuals.
All posts should be a minimum of 300 words, scholarly written, APA formatted, and referenced. A minimum of 2 references are required.

What can you infer and assume from looking at the above URL?

Questions
1. A user logging in to an application is redirected to the following URL:

https://wahh-app.com/MyAccount.php?uid=1241126841

a) What can you infer and assume from looking at the above URL?
b) How can you test whether the application is using the UID parameter to enforce access controls in an unsafe way?

2. Why is enforcing access control using the user source IP address a fundamentally flawed design?

3. Compare and contrast the common access control methods: MAC, DAC, RBAC, and ABAC.

4. You identified a possible SQL injection vulnerability in a login function. However, the following input fails to bypass
the login function:
‘ or 1=1—

The error message indicates that the — characters are being stripped by the application’s input filters. How can this be circumvented to bypass the login function?
