Take any classic fairy tale (you may use “Little Red Riding Hood” in “Texts & Contexts,” 338-86), and compare 2 different variations of the same tale.

If you compare the post 1945 fairy tales with nineteenth and early twentieth century variations, pay particular attention to how feminism, civil rights, and other social movements affected the style and content of the fairy tales.

The evaluation should include specific outcomes (increase in positive behaviors/feelings, completion of tasks etc.) and ways that you will utilize evaluation tools such as scales, frequency counts, standardized assessments, documentation of completion of tasks, etc.
Will you use a subjective rating scale every time you see the client to evaluate their feelings (ex: confidence, preparedness, anxiety)? Will you ask the client to use a frequency count to track how often they complete a task? Be clear about the evaluation tool you will use and how you will use it in your work with the client.
You must also discuss how frequently you will collect evaluative information (weekly, monthly, every three months, etc.). The evaluation should not be based solely on client self-report or social worker observation.
Conclusion: Summarize what you discussed throughout the paper.

1. The introduction should begin by catching the reader’s interest. Then the writer
immediately states the issue or problem and how it impacts both sides, using totally
neutral language. The introductory paragraph/s should be comprehensive and long
enough to cover the topic and both sides thoroughly.

2. In the next part, the writer describes the opposing side, still using neutral language in
order not to misrepresent the opposition. The primary purpose of this section is to
acknowledge the validity of the opposing side’s support and evidence.

3. In this part, the writer finally has a chance to present his or her argument. However, he

evidence and support. This section of the Rogerian is crucial to the acceptance of the
writer’s point of view as valid.

4. The final step in the Rogerian process is to find common ground between the opposing
sides. The writer should consider alternative solutions on both sides of the problem in
order to find a way to compromise. The writer’s primary purpose in this part is to
combine the positive ideas for solutions from each side and creatively convince the
reader that each side will move toward the middle and meet in a beneficial compromise.

Country Report paper (individual assignment)
Assignment: You are to prepare a country report for a developing country (list of developing countries) of your choosing. The country report will provide information about the challenges faced in this country if foreign direct investment is to take place. What is the business environment in general and/or in a specific industry. Assume you are preparing a report for upper management who are considering entering the market in your chosen country. You should use any of the ideas/concepts reviewed in class (import substitution strategy, debt, financial crisis, poverty, unemployment, trade, etc.). In particular, use the ideas in Acemoglu & Robinson’s book “Why Nations Fail” to describe or anticipate the challenges facing anyone entering this developing country’s market. Chapters from this book will be read during the course so as you read it think of ways to apply the ideas to your paper.
The style should be APA. The format should be 8×11 page with one-inch margin. Use Times Roman 12, 1 ½ spaced and make your paper about 10-12 pages long in length. Assignments longer than indicated will face a penalty and the likelihood that I will NOT read beyond the limit. If your work is “too long”, summarize, synthetize, tighten your arguments. If your assignment is “too short”, then more information is probably needed. Use endnotes and quotations when you are borrowing ideas from others. The paper will be run through SafeAssign.

Structure of the Country Report:
I. Background Information: Your country report should include a short and brief basic background information (one slide) listed below. You should try to obtain current data and data from the last few years. Examples of some useful information are:
Indicators of the level of development: PPP gdp per capita income, HDI, poverty index, measures of inequality, etc.
Macroeconomic indicators: GDP level and growth rate, inflation,
unemployment levels.
Structure of the economy: sectoral output/employment, major industries (their share in output), three major imports/exports, importance in international trade.
II. Information of Industry to enter/invest: What is relevant for a decision to enter this market? Examples of key points: Market size, population, purchasing power, domestic or foreign competitors? Any alliances with local industry? Produce and export? Produce locally? Use a license agreement? Skilled labor? Wages? Labor market? trade liberalization, free trade agreements, state intervention, foreign direct investment policy, tax on repatriation? How do relations with the US around this sector/ issue affect this country’s business environment? What are the main institutions you will deal with in this country? What does Acemoglu and Robinson say about the challenges to be encountered in developing nations?
III. Recommendation/Conclusion: Based on your presentation make a recommendation as to how to best enter this market and deal with the challenges encountered. What would you recommend for a successful presence in this country?
In general, I will look for the following:
The first paragraph should include a summary of what the paper is going to be about. Use subheadings throughout the paper to guide the reader about the basic structure of your paper.
Support or provide documentation for your claims. Provide the sources of figures/tables/facts and support your assertions. If someone else said it originally, then credit that individual. Failure to credit others for their ideas, information, or data constitutes plagiarism and is subject to disciplinary action. If you are making your own personal claims, use data or other references to support your claims.
A conclusion or summary. Don’t simply stop writing after you have reached your x page goal. A research paper should not have a cliffhanger ending. Give your reader a sense of closure and conclude your thoughts/ideas. Put your argument in perspective by giving some sort of summary which recaps the major issues and key points that led to you to come to your conclusion.
Final Paper: Your final paper should include: one, a cover page with a title and author; two, the main text, and threea page at the end with the Reference List. Only the main text count for the page count.
