Discuss on he Internet of Things (IoT.The Internet of Things (IoT) Product Proposal Assignment
The Internet of Things allows objects to be sensed and controlled remotely across existing network infrastructure, creating opportunities for more direct integration between the physical world and computer-based systems, and resulting in improved efficiency, accuracy, and economic benefit.
The IoT products and solutions in each of these markets have different characteristics:
Manufacturing:
By networking machinery, sensors, and control systems together, the IoT intelligent systems enable rapid manufacturing of new products, dynamic response to product demands, and real-time optimization of manufacturing production and supply chain networks.
Media:
The combination of analytics for conversion tracking with behavioral targeting and programmatic media has unlocked a new level of precision that enables display advertising to be focused on the devices of people with relevant interests.
Environmental Monitoring:
Environmental monitoring applications of the IoT typically utilize sensors to assist in environmental protection by monitoring air or water quality, atmospheric or soil conditions, and even the movements of wildlife and their habitats. Development of resource-constrained devices connected to the Internet also means that other applications like earthquake or tsunami early-warning systems can also be used by emergency services to provide more effective aid.
Infrastructure Management:
The IoT infrastructure can be used to monitor any events or changes in structural conditions that can compromise safety and increase risk. It can also be utilized to schedule repair and maintenance activities in an efficient manner by coordinating tasks between different service providers and users of these facilities.
Energy Management:
It is expected that IoT devices will be integrated into all forms of energy-consuming devices (switches, power outlets, bulbs, televisions, etc.) and be able to communicate with the utility supply company in order to effectively balance power generation and energy usage.
Medical and Healthcare Systems:
IoT devices can be used to enable remote health monitoring and emergency notification systems. These health monitoring devices can range from blood pressure and heart rate monitors to advanced devices capable of monitoring specialized implants, such as pacemakers or advanced hearing aids. Specialized sensors can also be equipped within living spaces to monitor the health and general well-being of senior citizens while also ensuring that proper treatment is being administered as well as assisting people regain lost mobility via therapy.
Building and Home Automation:
IoT devices can be used to monitor and control the mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems used in various types of buildings (e.g., public and private, industrial, institutions, or residential). Home automation systems, like other building automation systems, are typically used to control lighting, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, appliances, communication systems, entertainment, and home security devices to improve convenience, comfort, energy efficiency, and security.
Transportation:
The IoT can assist in integration of communications, control, and information processing across various transportation systems. Application of the IoT extends to all aspects of transportation systems (i.e. the vehicle, the infrastructure, and the driver or user). Dynamic interaction between these components of a transport system enables inter and intra vehicular communication, smart traffic control, smart parking, electronic toll collection systems, logistic and fleet management, vehicle control, and safety and road assistance.
Large-scale deployments:
There are several planned or ongoing large-scale deployments of the IoT to enable better management of cities and systems. For example, Songdo in South Korea, a fully equipped and wired smart city, is the first of its kind and near completion. Nearly everything in this city is planned to be wired, connected, and turned into a constant stream of data that would be monitored and analyzed by an array of computers with little to no human intervention. Another example of a large-scale deployment is the one completed by New York Waterways in New York City to connect all their vessels and be able to monitor them live 24/7.

Inflation, Political Division Put U.S. in a Pessimistic Mood, Poll Finds
Adamy (2022) discusses how Americans feel pessimistic about the economy and how the nation is divided on essential values. Bakker et al. (2019) mention how economic growth is based on labor and capital inputs. The survey found that people are also pessimistic about the nation’s political system. Adamy (2022) presented some of the results of the study; 83% of respondents view the economy as poor or not so good. 35% of respondents are not satisfied with their financial situation, and 38% said their financial situation had worsened in the past few years. Adamy (2022) mentioned how results say that high inflation drives the poor economy. The unemployment rate is at 3.6%, close to a half-century low. Most respondents said it is easy to find a new job with the same salary and benefits. Tang et al. (2022) talk about how just in April 2020, the unemployment rate peaked at 14.8%. Adamy (2022) explains that Democrats control the White House and Congress and how the economy is usually the top issue for voters when considering elections. The voters typically hold the party in power accountable for the economy’s problems and high inflation that has made housing, groceries, gas, etc., significantly more expensive. Winter (2020) talked about how political determinants’ impact determines the economic direction. When 911 happened, the United States came together and became the most unified as ever, but when COVID-19 happened, the world became the most divided. The pandemic caused the world to isolate itself from each other, which has caused the world to become divided into all sorts of issues. Some of the issues that divide the world are whether you should or should not take the vaccine; in the beginning, people were arguing whether COVID-19 was real or not. 64% of respondents emphasized how platforms like Facebook and Twitter are more harmful to people than helpful.

Discussion Thread: Political Forces That Affect Global Trade
Political Forces That Affect Global Trade
As globalization increases as time goes on, international business becomes more common and influential in today’s global economic health. International trade allows countries to have access to other services and goods that are not accessible domestically. It is important to note that various factors affect global trade such as socio-cultural, geographic, economic, and political forces. Companies engaging in global trade must conduct thorough research to ensure these factors are being taken into careful consideration to ensure success across borders. One political factor a business leader must assess when conducting global trade is to determine the type of economic system a county builds its political choice. Different types of economic systems include market economy, socialist economy, communistic economy, or mixed economies of the aforementioned. By evaluating the types of economic systems, business managers can discern private property and contract rights and adjust their processes as necessary (Kahiya, 2020). Another political force that business managers need to take into consideration is the type of governmental systems associated with the nation in which they are planning to operate. The type of government such as democracy, republic, monarchy, and communist, will provide insight, guidance, and a set of laws to abide by when operating in a chosen nation. According to a recent study, businesses that conduct multi-level analysis and research to understand a host nation’s laws to ensure legal compliance is more likely to succeed in the survival of the business (Audretsch et al., 2019). It is also imperative for business leaders to identify and understand the current political stability of the country such as the attitude of political leaders to foreigners and foreign trade or the level of state intervention in the economy for foreigners to enter a foreign market. Ultimately, business managers must acquire enough knowledge to have an informed decision when operating globally. Proverbs 11:14 emphasizes the importance of seeking knowledge as it states, “Where there is no guidance, the people fall, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety” (English Standard Version).

Discussion Thread: Political Forces That Affect Global Trade
Buy American Rules Hurt More Than They Help
In his article, Millshap (2022) discusses that under HB 619, a proposed law in Florida, all construction, maintenance, and remodeling projects in the state must use steel or iron produced in the U.S. The bill may seem patriotic, but it will result in increased costs for taxpayers, slow American innovation, and reduce America’s influence abroad. By enforcing ‘Buy American’ rules, local companies are protected from international competition, resulting in higher prices now and lower quality products in the future. The ‘Buy American’ regulations present challenges, and even once implemented, how are we sure that the end-product is composed entirely by US-made materials? Whitten et al. (2020) explain that trade barriers, both tariffed and non-tariffed, reduce economic efficiency. For Skonieczny (2018), political trade is primarily a matter of identities, and successful or unsuccessful economic legislation rests on plausible stories about trading partners and realistic depictions of economic conditions. Anderson (2022) remark that U.S. and Chinese businesses have been impacted by China’s regulatory changes, but protectionist trade policies implemented by the past administration and carried over by the current administration have severely limited the ability of the U.S. government to protect American businesses in China. There is no evidence on how the protectionist policies are helping the economy or consumers, but the policies are damaging US companies abroad. For Millshap strong international trade competition among domestically based and foreign-based producers is an alternative. Trade promotes individual liberty, encourages economic growth, stimulates innovation, and supports free markets and representative government. Kristen (2020) explains that trading relationships had a profound impact on the American Revolution, which was inherently material or ideological. No matter how we choose to look at it, Write a paper on how American merchants rewarded British sympathizers, and trade between the US and Great Britain continued. Trade has been critical for the US, bringing prosperity, boosting economic growth, and helping American companies and consumers, it is important to understand the ‘Buy America’ policies, and look the ways to improve its enforcement, and at the same time, its implementation to support US manufacturers.

What was the most impactful part, and what could have been done more effectively?
Please write two 2-page speech critique papers, as follows:
PAGE 1- please tell me:
– the speaker’s name and topic
– your reaction / level of knowledge and interest in the topic going into the speech
– how effective the speaker’s CONTENT was (e.g. was it organized? Was the information interesting and the language appropriate?). You can use the checksheet (see Checksheet link to the left) to do this.
PAGE 2 – please tell me:
– how effective the speaker’s DELIVERY was (e.g. was the rate ok? Did it flow well? Was it extemporaneous?). Again, it’s a good idea to use the checksheet for help – many students actually give the speech a grade using it.
– overall, what was your reaction – was the speech effective? Why or why not? What was the most impactful part, and what could have been done more effectively?
FORMAT – people who know me know that I am very big on following rules. Don’t lose points for formatting. Your paper should be two pages, double-spaced, 11 point font, 1″ margins all around, and a 2-line header, just your name and the date. If you had seen what I’ve seen (like papers with 3″ margins and 16 point font) you’d understand why I do this. Two pages is two pages – not exactly a long paper! Please follow these directions carefully.

Please review the Discussion Board participation guidelines. This is important information that will ensure that you earn maximum points. An important point to note is that the final paper contains specific instructions for completion that you may or may not include in your summary response to this discussion. Your professionally researched and written APA-compliant postings, using appropriate sources, should provide substantive depth that advances the discussion. Please edit your posts for grammatical errors before you post. Be sure to review the requirements for each week’s discussion topic(s).
Access all required readings (articles, videos, etc.) from the Library.
In your individual assignment for this week, you will take a learning journey to understand the role of market research by learning from a market research subject matter expert (SME) and incorporating the results of this interview into the learning goals you have set for yourself on this topic. By talking with those who do market research work as their primary occupation or as part of their daily business responsibilities, you will learn about the methods they use, how they measure success, and other important information that you can apply in the marketplace simulation. Be sure to ask your SME if it is OK to contact them again if you have some follow-up questions for them based on peer feedback.
Sharing what you have learned from the interview with the expert contributes to team learning, which is one of the five disciplines that contribute to a learning organization (Senge, 1990). For the Discussion post, contribute to the team learning by presenting the highlights of your paper and discussing with your peers the results of this journey. Please post the results of your individual assignment in draft form to the Discussion Board by Saturday night (attached in a Microsoft® Word® document) or pasted into the Discussion Board to give others the chance to read your entire work if they would like more information in addition to your highlights. Please be sure to review the rubric for the final draft to be turned in on Tuesday. There is additional information required for the paper.
Here are some ideas for identifying a market research professional or company that you can include in your post that others can learn from and incorporate into future learning journeys.
Main Response: Be sure to answer these questions in your main response in addition to posting the draft of your paper.
How did you find your subject matter expert (SME)? Discuss any difficulties and how you overcame them.
As you asked your SME questions about the areas you wanted to learn more about, what were the important points or areas of greatest learning for you? Were there any surprises?
Did the interview results provide any new ideas for you to explore?
What links were you able to see between the information you gathered and the marketing research information provided for you in the simulation?

develop your thesis using a number of supporting ideas that you will analyze the issue discussed and evaluate the research and information gathered to support this idea.
These are very broad topics and you need to limit and narrow your focus in a way that fits the length and nature of this assignment. In your argumentative synthesis, you will have a specific thesis that proposes a claim about the issue you write about, and you will draw upon 4-6 reliable sources to develop and support your argument. You will develop your thesis using a number of supporting ideas that you will analyze the issue discussed and evaluate the research and information gathered to support this idea. Remember that this is an argumentative synthesis, so you need to be argumentative and persuasive by appealing to the three major rhetorical appeals: logos, ethos, and pathos. You also need to avoid the common fallacies we studied earlier in the semester in order to present a strong and convincing argument.
Make sure to use ideas form external sources to develop the claim you want to promote about the issue. It is very helpful to summarize the articles that you will use to develop your synthesis as early as possible in the writing process. Be flexible in choosing from these sources and don’t hesitate to drop or replace one source by a new one if you feel that the one you are using is not helping you achieve your purpose. Remember that you have to generate a claim and list of supporting ideas then use the ideas from the external sources to support your claim and ideas. Make sure that you maintain a good critical distance that distinguishes between your ideas and other people’s ideas. You job is to persuade and present a thorough picture about the differing opinions available out there about the issue you write about. Consider counterarguments and concede to these different ideas whenever you feel is appropriate. Please also remember and utilize the skills we learned earlier in the quarter (quotation, paraphrase, summary, critique, and analysis) in developing your paper.

Explain what type of argument it is, explain how the author justifies/defends/provides evidence for those premises, and then, in the last ¼ or 1/3 of the paper, defend or attack the argument by either strengthening or weakening the premises, respectively, or pinpointing a problem with the structure of the argument.
Explain what type of argument it is, explain how the author justifies/defends/provides evidence for those premises, and then, in the last ¼ or 1/3 of the paper, defend or attack the argument by either strengthening or weakening the premises, respectively, or pinpointing a problem with the structure of the argument. So, if you think the argument is bad, explain which premise is wrong or why the evidence for the premise is not enough to accept the premise. Alternatively, you can critique an argument by finding a problem with its structure. If you think the argument is good, try to strengthen a premise with some further evidence, or defend the argument against an objection.
