What made you question the legitimate messages included in the quiz?

Threats today come in many forms. Phishing attacks are almost a daily occurrence and malicious software can hide in the most innocuous of places. Scare tactics, such as threats of monetary loss or imminent arrest for illegal activity abound. Often, the messages have a ring of truth. In the back of our mind the question, “what if?”, arises. For this exercise, you will have the opportunity to play the role of potential victim and of attacker. In each role, draw from the readings, other articles or academic resources and your prior experience to provide a detailed explanation of the steps that you would take in this role. Be sure to follow APA guidelines for citations and support your answers with citations.

Part A

Start by completing the Phishing quiz (Links to an external site.) (https://www.intradyn.com/phishing-quiz/ (Links to an external site.)). Capture the results page and include it as Appendix A of the submitted document. After you have completed the quiz, do some research on why phishing attacks are successful.

Once you have completed the quiz and your research, discuss the following:

How well did you do on the quiz?
What were some of the obvious indicators that a message was a phishing attempt?
What made you question the legitimate messages included in the quiz?
Reflect on your overall experience with the quiz. Reflect on the ease or difficulty you had in determining if the examples were real or phishing attempts. Using your research, discuss why phishing attacks are successful today and the key things that users should be aware of when reading or reacting to any email message.

Part B

Now play the role of an attacker. How can you construct a message that looks trustworthy? What elements are important to the message to make it appear authentic? Using your research, what are important elements in a phishing message that would allow the message to be successful?

Write a 2 to 3 page paper that addresses the concerns that have been identified. Support the ideas and suggestions with citations. The paper should also use APA style and appropriate citations.

Using what we have discovered this week about establishing trust, create a protocol for our actors to authenticate each other and conduct the business outlined in the scenario.

In this project, we will create a scenario for a business transaction and build a protocol plan to allow two mutually suspicious business actors to authenticate with each other and complete the business transaction.

The Scenario:

You work for a company that enables two parties to transact business when there is no trust currently built between the parties. For the first part of this project, you will create the scenario and describe the business transaction as well as the two actors in the transaction. The scenario should describe in detail the actors, the type of business transaction and the types of information or goods that will be transferred. In addition, the scenario should in methods of transfer such as electronic document and/or physical goods.

The Plan:

Once we have established the actors, the type of transaction and the goods or information to be transferred, it is now time to create a protocol for these two mutually distrusting actors to authenticate each other. We can assume that these parties do not know each other but the protocol must work the first time it is employed.

Using what we have discovered this week about establishing trust, create a protocol for our actors to authenticate each other and conduct the business outlined in the scenario. Be sure to include the tools such as encryption keys, digital signatures and any other tools or techniques that would enable the business transaction to be completed.

The protocol paper should be at least 3 to 5 pages in 11 font in length. Support the ideas and suggestions with citations. The paper should also use APA style and appropriate citations.

Term Paper – Applied Ethics

Read the article, “Meet the Teens Who Want to Get Vaccinated Against Their Parent’s Wishes”. The Link: https://reason.com/2019/05/19/meet-the-teens-who-want-to-get-vaccinated-against-their-parents-wishes/

This assignment is to write a paper in which you apply Kant’s ethics to the moral issue discussed in this article. The paper should be written in your own words and structured in accord with the outline given below. This outline addresses two questions concerning the morality of childhood vaccinations. Your paper should address these two questions applying the two parts of Kant’s ethical theory as follows:

1. Thesis statement.

2. Give the argument for and a clear statement of Kant’s Categorical Imperative. Apply the Categorical Imperative to the ethical question of childhood vaccinations in general. The questions is: In light of the established scientific medical evidence concerning childhood vaccinations, is it ethical to vaccinate children?

3. Kant’s Principle of Humanity includes an argument for human autonomy. What is this argument for human autonomy and what does it tell us about how humans should be treated? Apply this to the ethical question of vaccinating adolescent children who want to get vaccinated against their parent’s wishes. The question is: Should parents, who are against childhood vaccinations, allow their adolescent child to get vaccinated if the adolescent child disagrees with them and wants to get vaccinated?

4. What would be the counter arguments to the conclusion reached in #2 above? Also, what would be the counter arguments of anti-vaxxer parents to their child who wants to get vaccinated. What arguments could be given in response to these counter arguments?

5. What do you think about this issue and what is your argument for your position on this?

The paper should be about 750 words

What is Sophia’s ethical obligation to Pete? Should she tell him about the mistake?

You should be responding in no shorter than 4-6 sentences. This does not mean you cannot go over 4-6 sentences in length. It is important that you respond to what is being asked and respond with thoughtful answers. I want to see your reasoning and thoughts! It is also important to use facts to support your answers. This means, you should be using the terminology discussed in this course along with references to legal concepts

Essay Questions:
1. Sophia negotiated a contract with Pete under which she would buy his company for $10 million plus the amount of the company’s outstanding debt (approximately $1 million). But when Pete sent a draft of the contract, it stated that the purchase price would be $10 million less the company’s debt. What is Sophia’s ethical obligation to Pete? She also opened a bank account in the café’s name and signed the account signature card as “owner.” Jake told their coffee supplier that Melissa was a member of a partnership that owned the café. Considering this basis, the coffee supplier supplied its goods to the café on credit. The café was wholly owned by a Texas corporation. 3. Three decades ago, corporations and corporate directors were rarely prosecuted for crimes, and penalties for crimes were relatively light. Today, this is no longer true. Under the current corporate sentencing guidelines and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, corporate wrongdoers can and do now receive substantial penalties. Do these developments mean that corporations are committing more crimes now than in the past? In your opinion, will stricter laws be effective in curbing corporate criminal activity? How can a company avoid liability for crimes committed by it employees?

Amy is making the payments, but because of an injury, she is unable to work for one month. She asks Priority Bank to extend her loan for three months. The bank agrees, raising the interest rate for the extended period. Darnell is not notified of the loan extension. One month later, Amy drops out of school and stops making the payments on the loan. All attempts to collect the remaining amount of the loan from Amy fail. Priority bank is not able to get in touch with Amy to discuss the out standing balance.
