Journal Search Reflection

In this assignment, you are required to reflect on your experience searching and analyzing articles from the research database and address questions listed in action item 3 below.

In a 1 page paper, address the following questions:
How was the experience? Was it easier than you had expected?
What pitfalls or barriers did you encounter?
How did you overcome these barriers?
Do you believe that you could utilize this sort of research in the field? In what ways?
Your response should be detailed and well supported.

How is data compiled in criminal justice for the purpose of research? What are the implications of the manner in which most data is collected? What recommendations do you have for how we can improve data collection and evaluation methods in the field.

Answer each of the following final exam questions in a minimum of one page per question. Each answer to the question must have an introduction, body, & conclusion. And, ensure that you cite all sources and answering all components of each question.
Select an evidence-based practice that is applicable to the area in criminal justice you would like to work. Provide a proposal for implementation of this program to the Executive Staff of the organization.
Compare and contrast quantitative and qualitative research. You should outline the similarities, differences, and uses.
Provide the full citation and link to a journal article (different from any assignment in the course) and provide a brief descriiption and analysis of why you think this research could help in the field. It might be an evidence-based practice or it might help to solve a problem.
What is program evaluation research and how is it different from other research in criminal justice?
How is data compiled in criminal justice for the purpose of research? What are the implications of the manner in which most data is collected? What recommendations do you have for how we can improve data collection and evaluation methods in the field.

General Appliances: An Aging Workforce Case Study Continued

Continue to analyze the case study presented in Week 7 and answer the following three questions:
How should health and safety concerns be addressed in light of the aging workforce?
How much should Bruney’s legacy affect Swann’s recommendations? Is it right for a manager to be influenced by the vision of someone who is no longer with the company?
What should Swann’s plan be to address an aging workforce?

Security Architecture & Design

For the next Milestone, use the case information, your readings, and any other source materials at your disposal. Provide a simple security design for secure cloud access distributed file sharing tool that is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) service. The staff is using the storage to house corporate documents and sales information – including credit card information. Include a list of the security features that you would enable and why you would enable them in your design. Modify your Visio diagram to include the SaaS logical infrastructure and produce a one-page Executive Summary that explains the major components, their functions, and capabilities/limitations. Include protection against malware, unauthorized access, and forged keys in your infrastructure. Your files need to be in formats compatible with Microsoft Office products, so they can be easily viewed. Save your deliverables in individual files named CYBR515 Milestone 3a Assignment and CYBR515 Milestone 3b Assignment and attach them to this assignment.

Unmanned Aerial System Data Collecting & Processing

Pick a UAS drone to best fit this mission.

The recent volcano eruption on the Big Island of Hawaii has subsided. The task is to collect data and information to show the results of the month’s long eruption. For instance, what is the extent of the damage? How many homes have been destroyed? Other property? Government facilities? For the response, describe what kinds of data you need to collect, how to organize the data and in what way to use the data to demonstrate the above requirements.

alcoholism and trust

How would you define alcoholism? Write a brief definition. Based on this conceptualization, pick a survey/assessment/questionnaire/etc. that would be valid for a study of alcoholism (as you define it). Cite a research article that has also used this method of measurement.

How would you define trust? Write a brief definition. Based on this conceptualization, pick a survey/assessment/questionnaire/etc. that would be valid for a study of trust (as you define it). Cite a research article that has also used this method of measurement.

How valid is a valid measure? Based on your trust and alcoholism article searches, do you feel your methods of measurement are the “most valid” measurement of this concept? Explain.

Power point presentation on the research proposal you wrote

The PowerPoint Presentation is a presentation of your research proposal. By the end of the presentation your classmates should have a full understanding of your research proposal. It should be roughly 8-10 slides, and detailed – creativity is encouraged!

Slides must include, but are not limited to:
– Why your research is important
– Previous research that supports your research (literature review)
– Research question, hypothesis, independent/dependent/constant variables
– How your variables are operationally defined/measure – what tools/tests are you using? why?
– Research design
– Participants
– Procedure
– Ethical concerns with your research
– Any other relevant aspects to your research

Earth Sciences

There is a new trend in science called direct-to-consumer genetic testing. These testing kits like 23andMe sequence your DNA and screen for ancestry relatives and genetic predispositions to certain diseases or conditions. Science clearly provides answers to many questions but there is such a thing as knowing too much or not enough?

You can watch a YouTube video on at home genetic testing so you can answer the following questions:
1) based on what you have learned about genetic testing kids, would you want to try one yourself, or have you tried one yourself already? Why or why not?
2) what would you think is one positive and one negative aspect of genetic testing?

use the articles you picked already for the research proposal

instructions provided from professor for assignment:
Having already searched relevant research articles based on your research topic, choose 3-5 articles and summarize each article (2-3 paragraphs for each article) – please make sure the articles are clearly referenced either above or below the summary, and accessible when searched for.
Your response to each article is required to address these questions:
What is this article about?
How does this previous research relate to my current research proposal?
What is already known or understood about my research topic from this article – what is the general comprehensive knowledge of my topic in the field?
What are findings/outcomes that have led me to my current research question and hypothesis?
How is the research data collected?
What are the gaps in these previous findings that my research proposal is hoping to address?
How can I show reliability and validity in my research proposal with my chosen articles?

**DO NOT PLAGIARIZE – quoting (” “) more than 2 back-to-back sentences in an article is considered plagiarism. These summaries, as well as the final paper, will be checked for plagiarism. Remember, for your final paper, you will need to incorporate in-text citations.
