Scientific inquiry is also referred to as the study or research that scientists carry out. They perform multiple types of research and gather data in order to prove or disprove a theoretical question. The findings of their research are made public in order to help others study and learn about the subject or topic, as well as become acquainted with what is going on in the world. Instead of trusting assumptions and intuition, this process includes critical thinking and asking actual questions to aid in determining the accuracy of factual information that has been tested or disproved. Among other things, a typical example from psychology, as in all science-related fields, is that this process aims to evaluate assumptions, measure outcomes, determine hidden values, assess evidence, and put ideas to the test. If this one person was studied, he or she would provide a different set of data than the ones used to conclude that “smokers die younger.” Another useful method is the survey, which asks people to answer questions and report on their behavior or opinions. Surveying allows a psychologist to obtain information from large groups, but there is still the possibility of error because the requested information is dependent on the wording of a question, the group chosen to respond, and the respondents giving relevant self-reports.
For example if the students from the college campus would have been investigated on their drinking behavior, there would have been a different response from the professors on the same college campus with the same survey. Naturalistic observation is a research method that allows us to observe and record data in an environment that is naturally occurring. This facilitates us to notice situations without the use of any external influence or falsification. In other ways, it only allows us to other ways describe a behaviour, not explain it. The correlation test is a scientific measure that makes previously unremarked data visible to the naked eye by implying the prospect of a relationship between different strongly linked things. The last step is communicating the outcomes or results at the end of the experiment.

The research review’s conclusions were based on the study’s goal, which was to examine how tour operators deal with social and environmental issues in the context of sustainable development. The researchers have a strong opinion on how eco-tourism has been a success in a developing country, using Costa Rica as an example. It has revealed how ecotourism tour operators have been extremely committed to promoting and implementing sustainable development. In my opinion, if Costa Rica can succeed as a developing country to the point where tour operators set an example, other developing countries can follow suit. Since most countries are focused on mass tourism, which is focused on making more money, local communities usually do not benefit from this. Most tour operator companies in developed countries are profit-driven, but a study found that in Costa Rica, tour operators have aided in economic development by providing job opportunities in local communities. According to their reviews towards their study, they are on the opinion that if the tour operators can attract sustainable tourists, there is a possibility for them in investing in environmental and social actions. They also provide an alternative solution for the ecotourism operators to involve local communities in the business activities, support them through education awareness in order for them to get the knowledge and facilitate ecotourism for sustainable development.
They researcher’s final view are that there is a need for acquiring knowledge skills on environmental protection and engaging in conservation activities because this can inspire the communities to accommodate the society for the environmental necessities within their society. On the other hand the reviewer’s conclusions has stated that mass tourism in one of the challenging that eco-tourism sector is facing like any other country developing country and ecotourism operators have no say on it, which cause a big threat towards their sustainable efforts. However the researchers of the study have proposed that awareness is needed beyond even involving all external parties such as local stakeholders to be involved in the environmental protection and local conservation for the sustainable development in order to support and facilitate the ecotourism initiatives for the benefit of their societies and the country large.
Like any other study, limitation is something likely to occur and for this study it also a similar case, the research gaps from their research strategy on the data collection process showed that there were not many organizations or tour companies participated in the interview or some even did not respond. However that they are in opinion that may be it was due to the fact it was a high season of tourism, getting response might have impacted this because of busy schedule. My thesis is somehow similar to this, however is it not entirely focusing on the eco-tourism tour operators’ involvement but focusing on Zanzibar as an Island and the preliminary research questions will be, “Is Eco – tourism a viable option for Zanzibar”.
This relates to my interests in sense that, with my thesis as part of this is conducting interviews with different stakeholders, Government officials, private sectors, local communities this is a challenging factor many of the research works faces. Sometimes they can be no response, which may delay this important part of the research methodology. The reviewers of this study were more concentrated on ecotourism Operators Company and the local communities. However they did not mention anything if they managed to conduct the interviews with Ministry that is responsible for tourism and other important stakeholders too in Rica which ,I would say it would have been a good idea to have their inputs as one of the very important stakeholders in this sector. On the other the hand focusing on their objective of the study, was to show the reality of the ecotourism operators’ research study and basically it was not to present the findings on all tour operators even from the mass tourism. This interest my thesis topic because I learnt something that Zanzibar Island as a case study has been not done that before, to have “ecotourism tour operators”. Nonetheless, ecotourism is a relatively new subject on the island, and the vast majority of people are unaware of it. On the other hand, their findings are relevant, and they can, of course, be used in many countries other than Costa Rica to facilitate participation in ecotourism for sustainable development.
Despite the fact that the study’s limitations, according to the researchers, have focused only on Costa Rica in terms of empirical data, they recommend that a similar case study be conducted in a larger context in another country, not just on tour operators but also beyond. Because ecotourism is such a broad subject, it can also include high-end eco-tourism hotels, as well as middle and low-budget hotels, for which I tend to collect empirical data and learn more. Perhaps it would have been a good idea to differentiate between certified and non-certified eco-tourism companies, which was not mentioned in their research.
