Psychology in the Real World

Paper Assignment: Psychology in the Real World

Throughout this course, we’ve talked about practical implications of psychology and how these ideas can be observed in the real world. For this assignment, I’d like you to find an example of psychology in the news.

Find a news article from the last 5 years that reports the findings of a psychological study. The article must be from a reputable news source, not a blog post or unknown website. The American Psychological Association (APA) has a great news portal you can use to find your article: http://www.apa.org/news/psycport/ (链接到外部网站。). You can also use Google or search directly through the news source’s website.

The article you select should be long/detailed enough for you to develop a good understanding of the study being discussed.

Next, find the psychological study that was mentioned in this article. This part may be more challenging. A lot of articles can be found using Google scholar (a subset of Google that can be used to search for scholarly literature and research). I’ve included an example article and screenshots of myself tracking down the article on Canvas. You may not use the same article I used in this example.

Once you have found the original research, compare and contrast the actual research study with the summary found on the popular news site. Your paper should address the following topics/criteria (in any order that makes sense for your paper):

Describe and summarize both articles. Why did you choose this topic? How does it connect to the content we’ve discussed in this course? What was the purpose of each article? Were they the same or different? Why was that the case?
Compare and contrast the key points, style, and voice of the article. Why might they be different or the same?
How well did the popular news site summarize the actual findings of the study? Did they represent the actual research accurately? Why or why not?
What is the importance/relevance of this research?
Your paper should be at least 4 pages, double-spaced in Times New Roman font. It must include APA-style in text citations and a reference page. You can find resources for creating these citations here:

https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/apa_style/apa_formatting_and_style_guide/in_text_citations_the_basics.html (链接到外部网站。)

Your paper does not need a title page, running head, or page numbers.

Book Report- Redefining realness: My path to womanhood, identity, love and so much more

Application of intersectionality characteristics to the wheel.
Discuss how the individuals in the book experience relate to intersectionality. Cite Crenshaw and/or Collins to support your answer.
Using the wheel of intersectionality as a guide, describe and detail three intersecting aspects of the individual’s lives presented in the book.A critical review of gender, sexuality, social justice issues, and intersectionality characteristics. Read articles related to the gender, sexuality, or social justice issue of the individual in the book and articles related to the same intersecting characteristics as in question 3. Then develop a response to either a) or b) below and support your answer with information from the literature.
What action is being done in the 21st Century to support or address the intersecting characteristics experienced by the individual in the book?
What critiques from the literature indicate that not enough is being done to address the intersecting characteristics experienced by the individual in the book?

You have a start on pricing, but are you buying these cameras from another company? Is that price going to allow you to sell at the price noted? IS $15,000 going to be enough to cover your overhead?

Submit your final marketing plan for your marketing campaign
Submit a 5-7 page final marketing plan. This is the final version of your marketing plan draft. Review your draft feedback, make sure you have the analysis completed per the template. You are also able to make any qualitative revisions to your final submission.

attached below is my rough draft and the tearchers comments on what I need to inprove for this final paper

this is the tearchers feedback for the rough draft i attached below
“You have a start on pricing, but are you buying these cameras from another company? Is that price going to allow you to sell at the price noted? IS $15,000 going to be enough to cover your overhead? You need staff, you have selling and administrative expenses and other costs. TV adds can be costly they are not free, and this cost was not discussed. The cost of a Netflix film is in the millions, providing cameras for these movies at no charge could be a way to promote. Keep in mind this is not a report on general topics, you need to be specific, when you say you will advertise on TV, what is the expected or projected costs, how will you get this money, how will you recover the costs. We call this ROI or return on investment. The next assignment is a forecast report that will require you to forecast all of this cost, but you do not have enough information in this marketing plan to start. You’ll also need to expand on your PEST analysis, it does not address all of the key aspects.”

If you were to seek employment in a public health organization, where would you like to work? Locally, nationally, globally? Why?

Assignment 3 HLSC 3821 Short Reflection Paper
This assignment requires students to write a short reflection paper of approximately 4 pages on why the study of public health is important to those who work in health and health care.
During your introductory studies in public health, you have covered many topics such as the human response to illness, mental health, the health of special populations, the tension between a focus on communicable disease and non-communicable disease, research including epidemiology, environmental and occupational health, global health, and program planning and evaluation.
The question you are to explore in this reflection is:
Why is the study of public health valuable to those who work in health and health care?
In this paper, you are being given a great deal of freedom to express your thoughts on this question.
As a reflection paper generally combines knowledge and experience, the best approach to take is to keep your writing conversational in tone like in a discussion post. Use citations where necessary, but avoid writing a paper that is too academic in tone.
Here are some questions that you might wish to consider in your approach to writing this reflection:
Which topics in either Public Health I or II was the most interesting to you? Why?
Of the 10 essential public health services, which of them appeal to you the most? Why?
If you were to seek employment in a public health organization, where would you like to work? Locally, nationally, globally? Why?
If your career aspirations rest in another type of work, how has the study of public health refined or contributed to your understanding of health and health care?
What would a day in the life of a public health servant be like?
What kind of projects would inspire you to do your best work?
Of the seven categories of core competency statements, to which do you think you are most suited?
These questions are not an exhaustive list nor are you expected to answer all of them.

International and Comparative Human Resources Management

Applying Your IHRM Knowledge
Use your own personal work experience or interview someone you know who works for a multinational organization (preferably an organization which also has subsidiaries in Hong Kong).
Identify THREE problem issues related to International HRM. For each issue, analyze the situation using the theories and concepts from the textbook. Then, suggest what you as an IHRM consultant might recommend to improve the situation. The final product of the project will be a paper of 10 pages, font size 12, single space, Times New Roman (excluding bibliography and appendices). The paper should be organized into the following sections in this order:
1. Introduction – Give a short summary of the organization and HR problems/issues in the workplace
2. Analysis – Use relevant theories and concepts from the textbook to explain why each is a problem.
3. Recommendations – If you were a consultant for this organization, what would you recommend to improve the situation?
4. Justification – Using the theories and concepts from the class, explain why you think your recommendations would work. You can also cite successful benchmarks (examples) from other organizations.
5. Conclusion – Summarize your paper and reflect on how this assignment may be useful to you in the future.

In your analysis, be sure to include a discussion of the obstacles to ballot access and reforms to increase ballot access in Texas from 1904 until today. What laws that are not being consider in Texas (and other states) should be adopted and/or rejected. Don’t forget to include a specific thesis statement that shows an understanding of the significance of this battle over voting rights.

Family stressor (substance abuse )

Select a specific family stressor (e.g. mental illness (pick a specific one), substance abuse (select one) etc.) or life transition (immigration, death of a spouse etc.) you would like to explore further. What does the research reveal about this topic? How might the stressor impact the family system? What would need to occur for the family to
adapt rather than go into crisis? What resources or community services would you recommend to help support
the family? You should have a title page and a reference page which does not count towards the length
requirement. Please double space and use Times New Roman Font.

Please note that the sources for this paper should be scholarly articles. You are allowed to cite the textbook as one of sources and you should have at least 4 to 5 sources of information listed on your reference page.
As you can see I would like the topic for this paper to be about substance abuse. So thats the family stressor you’ll
focus on. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Domestic Violence Crisis Intervention

You are a police officer and were dispatched to the residence of Frank and Mary. This was the fourth time this year that you are heading to this address and dispatch stated that it is the seventh time that the police have been called there by the neighbors because of the fighting. When you got there, Officer St. Onge was just pulling up and you knocked and both entered the home. Inside you find a familiar scene: Frank had come home, drunk, and beaten Mary. Her eight year old son has gone to his room and refuses to come out. Mary had the start of a black eye and was holding her side. There were also red marks on her arm from where she apparently had been grabbed. Officer St. Onge arrested Frank and left the home with him in handcuffs. Mary refused to make a statement, press charges, seek counselling, or go to the hospital; the same as every other time. But, it is a slow night and you realize that the only counselling that Mary may ever get is what you give her right now. You know from prior talks that Frank is the breadwinner and has convinced Mary that she is worthless and could never make it on her own. She has told you that she won’t press charges because she feels she is at fault for the arguments, because she doesn’t live up to the standards Frank has set.
In a 3 to 5-page analytical essay, respond to the following:
Based on what Mary has told you, what type of domestic abuser do you think Frank is? Why?
What category of victim is Mary? Why?
Is her son also a victim? Why or why not?
Mary has a question about whether her son could be at risk for substance abuse. Is there evidence that states domestic abuse traits can be inherited through DNA? Would testing be helpful in predicting his future actions? Why or why not?
Because of the rapport you have developed with Mary resulting from your responses to the residence, she agrees to talk to you. What are some techniques you will use to get her to open up with her feelings and hopefully help her to see that she has options?
Assuming that she agreed to leave Frank and seek help for her and her son, what domestic violence victim resources would be available to Mary in your community (this will require research). Provide details of at least three options for Mary and explain which one you feel is best and why.
