Written Assignment – Due 04/24/2022
Each student will be required to complete one written assignment in this course. The purpose of this assignment is to provide an opportunity for you to research and provide information about a specific disease/condition that you have been assigned.
Each student is responsible for writing and submitting a comprehensive report as described below. The required text for this course will be a helpful resource, however, successful completion of the written assignment requires students to go to outside resources in order to find out information about the disease/condition.
The paper must not exceed 5 pages, not including title page and references, and it must be double-spaced with standard 1” margins and 12-point font. If you exceed the five-page limit, only the first five pages will be read and graded. Formatting should include page numbers along with a header and footer. References: 4 sources are required for the assignment; one of these sources can be your textbook; at least two of the other sources must be from peer-reviewed journals. Sources should be current (published within the last five years). Internet sources should not be used extensively for this assignment. Sources and citations throughout your paper must be referenced using the APA style. Papers should be written in a narrative format and should not include bullets. Section headings are permitted. You should paraphrase the information you have learned about and make sure to include intratext citations. Direct quotations are not permitted.

Ethical Systems Management Analysis

Chapter 15 of the textbook provides an overview of the various operations functions necessary to manage a global supply chain operation. The operation of each part requires the execution of multiple processes using information technology. These can include the following:
Customer relationship management systems to manage client information
Supplier management systems to collect supplier information
Warehouse management systems to control volume and location of inventory
From creating the product through the management of product, customer, and supplier information, a global operation is expected to operate ethically.
Use this template to complete the assignment: Unit 5 Template.
For this assignment, complete the following:
The introduction should introduce the reader to the systems that a global operation is expected to operate ethically.
Write an analysis identifying which technology is used to support each of the functions in the supply chain, and examine how each technology supports the function.
Write an analysis debating the pros and cons of using the various types of technology provided above to drive ethical practices in the scenario’s global operation.
The conclusion should summarize critical points of ethical operations in a global environment.
You are writing a review of ethical systems management that should be 3 pages in length. Be sure to cite your sources using APA properly. Include your references and in-text citations.
Submitting your assignment in APA format means, at a minimum, you will need the following:
Title page: Remember the running head. The title should be in all capitals.
Length: 3 pages minimum
Abstract: This is a summary of your paper, not an introduction. Begin writing in third person.
Body: This begins on the page following the title page and abstract page and must be double-spaced (be careful not to triple- or quadruple-space between paragraphs). The typeface should be 12-pt. Times Roman or 12-pt. Courier in regular black type. Do not use color, bold type, or italics, except as required for APA-level headings and references. The deliverable length of the body of your paper for this assignment is 3 pages. In-body academic citations to support your decisions and analysis are required. A variety of academic sources is encouraged.
Reference page: References that align with your in-body academic sources are listed on the final page of your paper. The references must be in APA format using appropriate spacing, hanging indent, italics, and uppercase and lowercase usage as appropriate for the type of resource used. Remember, the Reference page is not a bibliography but a further listing of the abbreviated in-body citations used in the paper. Every referenced item must have a corresponding in-body citation.

Explain exactly how those actions will aid in safeguarding our environment in relation to your chosen term.

Sustainable Living Guide Contributions: Sustaining Biodiversity and Ecosystems
[WLO: 2] [CLOs: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
Prior to beginning work on this assignment, read Chapters 1 and 2 in the course textbook. The purpose of this assignment is twofold: first, to enable you to explore a term (concept, technique, place, etc.) related to this week’s theme of sustaining Earth’s biodiversity and ecosystems; second, to provide your first contribution to a collective project, the Class Sustainable Living Guide. Your work this week, and in the weeks that follow, will be gathered (along with that of your peers) into a master document that you will receive a few days after the end of the course. The document will provide everyone with a variety of ideas for how we can all live more sustainably in our homes and communities.
To complete this assignment,
Select a term from the list of choices in the Week 1 – Term Selection Table located in the course. Type your name in the table, next to the word that you would like to choose.
Do not select a term that a classmate has already chosen; only one student per term. If you choose a term that is hyperlinked to a source, that term is one that is not mentioned in our textbook. Instead of being required to use the text as your third source for completing the assignment, you will be expected to use the hyperlinked source provided for you.
Download the Week 1 Assignment Template Download Week 1 Assignment Templateavailable in the course and replace the guiding text with your own words based upon your online research.
Please do not include a cover page. All references, however, should be cited in your work and listed at the end, following APA Style expectations.
In the template, you will
Define the term thoroughly, in your own words.
Explain the importance of the term using evidence.
Discuss how the term affects living things and the physical world.
Suggest two specific actions that you and your peers might take to promote environmental sustainability in relation to the term.
Explain exactly how those actions will aid in safeguarding our environment in relation to your chosen term.
Provide detailed examples to support your ideas.

Western Civilization PRIMARY DOCUMENT ANALYSIS

PRIMARY DOCUMENT
ANALYSIS ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS:
There are
two major types of sources used in the scholarship in the field of History;
“Secondary Sources” and “Primary Sources.”
Secondary
sources are like our textbook and other history books. They contain information from the past that
has already been interpreted by the authors.
The authors may have drawn on first-hand accounts and documents as well
as other books, interpreted them, and put them in a form for an audience to
read. When we read secondary sources we
are reading the author’s take on what happened.
Different authors may present the same facts but reach entirely
different conclusions.
Primary
sources are first-hand accounts from a time period in history that is being
studied. Examples include letters,
diaries, newspapers, treaties, and speeches to name a few. They have not been interpreted but are raw
information from the time period which can be positive but also negative. They can be positive because they take you
closer to the actual historical event and you can see what people who were
really there were thinking.
Unfortunately, they can have drawbacks because people involved in the
events usually have biases about the event stronger than a historian writing
hundreds of years later, Further,
someone involved in an actual event is probably only seeing the event from one
small perspective and may have no idea of the overall circumstances. One of the historian’s jobs is to sort
through these obstacles in search of the truth – or at least what they
interpret to be the truth.
For the Primary Document Analysis, choose one
document from:
https://eudocs.lib.byu.edu/index.php/Main_Page that is from the time period we are
studying (1600 – Present).
Read the
document carefully and respond to the following questions:
1. Summarize
your document.
2. What is
the purpose of the document you chose?
In other words, why was it created?
3. How may
your source be important to historians today in reconstructing what happened?
4. What
insight can we gain about the people of the time from this source including
their attitudes?
5. List 2
different ways in which your source could be interpreted.
6. What
biases, flaws in perspective, or inaccuracies, if any, should historians take
into account when they use this source?
Assignments should be approximately
550 words in length. Be sure to list the
title of your primary document at the top of your paper. Please double space.

Research Question: What text most shapes the Creature’s identity or sense of self, and how?

In Volume II of Frankenstein the Creature finds three books that contribute to his education: Milton’s Paradise Lost, Plutarch’s Lives (also sometimes called Parallel Lives), and Goethe’s The Sorrows of Young Werther. Two other books that Shelley references are Volney’s Ruins of Empires (which unfortunately it is difficult to find quality information about), and also implicitly is one written by her mother, Wollstonecraft’s Vindication of the Rights of Woman.

Research one of the books listed above to learn more about it and to learn more about how it shapes the creature’s identity. You can read exerpts (or the whole thing, of course!) from the source you choose, they are all available for free on Gutenberg.org. Use quotations from Frankenstein to support your argument, as well as quotations and paraphrasing from your research sources (primary and secondary).
