In Unit 3, the concept of myth was examined by multiple perspectives and examples were provided from all over the ancient world on the origins of our world. In this assignment, you will create your own ‘Creation Myth’ that attempts to resolve one of the great philosophical questions: how did we get here?

Your creation myth can be an adaptation of those you reviewed in Unit 3 or an entirely new approach. It can include a flood or any other component of climate. Your myth can present gods, goddesses, demigods or any other type of mythic creature (fairies, elves, fauns, centaurs, etc.) or it can express a spiritual entity that reigns supreme on its own. The key to this exploration is for you to experience the drive and wonder found in the Humanities even today to explain how we came to be.

This is a research paper covering the science on steel and how it performs and reacts with fire and high temperatures. This paper should be focused more on the science of steel.

Chapter 5 details how feelings are senses go into our brain and are perceived by our Psyche. Remember your brain sits in complete darkness and silence, all it knows is what is picked up by our senses.

Everyone has SOMETHING in their lives that we do that WE say “Yes, I love it!” but our BODIES say “What are you doing!? This hurts! This is weird and doesn’t help us at all! Why do you insist on doing this!?”

Those managing the operations need to have sound strategies in place and re-assess those strategies regularly to ensure that the supply chain performs effectively.

For this assignment, complete the following:

The introduction should introduce the reader to complex supply chains, their potential problems, and strategies for re-assessing strategies that ensure that the supply chain performs effectively.

Create a flow chart to illustrate the product flow in the supply chain. For instructions on how to create a flow chart, review this resource.

Prepare an analysis comparing how each of the provided strategies might be used to resolve the supply chain problem, including how the company should use the provided tools and processes to implement the strategy, explaining how implementing the strategy will resolve the supply chain problem.

Rhetorical Analysis Basic Expectations

Objectives:

This rhetorical analysis assignment asks you to turn a critical eye on someone else’s argument using the strategies discussed in your textbook. Rhetorical analysis demands that you read carefully, thoughtfully, and repeatedly to identify the elements of a text that are effective and fair as well as those that are not. You need to examine not only the “what” of the text, but more importantly, the “how.” Aim for a critical distance in your reading of the text, which means that you should be wary of any assumptions you bring with you to the text. Remember that it’s not about whether or not you agree or disagree with the writer’s position, but about how effectively the writer argued for that position.

Coming up with a Thesis Statement:

In your small groups and in exploratory assignments, you’ve already done much of the work that constitutes “rhetorical analysis.” Now, it’s time for you to put those ideas into writing. In order to write a clear thesis, you need to:
Identify any patterns you see in your notes and annotations. For example, does the writer rely upon one type of strategy more consistently than others? Is s/he particularly skilled at pathos? Does s/he ignore the opposition? Overlook a key idea or segment of the audience? Remember that you cannot simply hand in a list of rhetorical strategies you found in the text— work to synthesize them.
Decide if the argument is mostly effective or mostly ineffective— it can be a little of both, but usually you’ll find that it’s “mostly” one or the other.
Develop 2-4 overarching “claims” about the writer’s argument that you can clearly support with evidence from the text.

Once you have written a clear thesis, you will develop a paper that supports your thesis and “matches” its claims. Basically, you are making an argument about someone else’s argument.

Basic Requirements for the Paper:

Please write enough so that your paper at least spills over onto the fifth page, although you’re more than welcome to write more.
Correct formatting (1 inch margins, Times New Roman 12 pt., double-spaced, no “extra” spaces, MLA heading and header, Works Cited page, etc.)

Though data analysis occurs after the study has completed a data collection stage, the researcher needs to have in mind what type of analysis will allow the researcher to obtain an answer to a research question. The researcher must understand the purpose of each method of analysis, the characteristics that must be present in the study for the design to be appropriate and any weaknesses of the design that might limit the usefulness of the study results. Only then can the researcher select the appropriate design. Choosing the appropriate design enables the researcher to claim the data that is potential evidence that provides information about the relationship being studied. Notice that it is not the statistical test which tells us that research is valid, rather, it is the research design. Social workers must be aware of and adjust any limitations of their chosen design that may impact the validity of the study.

To prepare for this Discussion, review the handout, A Short Course in Statistics. If necessary, locate and review online resources concerning internal validity and threats to internal validity. Then, review the “Social Work Research: Chi Square” case study located in this week’s resources. Consider the confounding variables, that is, factors that might explain the difference between those in the program and those waiting to enter the program.

Post an interpretation of the case study’s conclusion that “the vocational rehabilitation intervention program may be effective at promoting full-time employment.” Describe the factors limiting the internal validity of this study, and explain why those factors limit the ability to draw conclusions regarding cause and effect relationships.

FORBIDDEN ARCHAEOLOGY
Examine the field of Forbidden Archaeology and write a thesis-driven
persuasive/analytical essay in which you clearly pinpoint the origins, in both time
and place, of human civilization. You should begin by viewing the Forbidden
Archaeology PowerPoint included with the unit. This will provide you with a general
overview of the topic and some key information pertaining to it.
You must incorporate at least three “Popular Topics in Forbidden Archaeology” in
defense or refutation of your thesis. These can be from those included in the
PowerPoint or can be of your own choosing. To get started, you may wish to conduct
keyword searches using phrases such as “forbidden archaeology”, “extreme human
antiquity”, “ancient nuclear war”, etc. It is essential that you carefully research the
topic, supporting your thesis with evidence (or a lack thereof) on the side of the debate
you choose to argue in your essay.
IN YOUR INTRODUCTION YOU SHOULD INCLUDE:
a definition and brief overview of the field of Forbidden Archaeology, a brief
discussion of the concept as well as a summary of the principal arguments on either
side of the debate including those of the principal players (i.e. the big names in the
field). You should then narrow your focus (this will be your thesis) to a specific

WRITING PROMPT
In a thesis-driven essay totaling a minimum of 1200 words answer the following

Is the cultural and technological history of our species (Homo sapiens) confined
to the past 12,000 years (approx.) as mainstream science currently suggests, or is
there evidence to support a much greater antiquity as is suggested by alternative

1. Price discriminate sounds like a socially “bad” thing. Can you think of any reasons why price discrimination could be viewed as a socially “good” thing?
