From ancient times to the modern, architecture has “housed” the human and other creatures. See Chapter 13: Architecture and pick the favorite building you have visited or frequent or even some place you have seen pictures of and wish to visit. It can be any building at all. The choice is yours!
Identify the location of your favorite building and describe the interior and exterior.

Chapter 11: Sculpture, Installation, Site-Specific Art and 3D Design
1. Using examples from the textbook, discuss at least three different approaches to the sculptural portrayal of the human body by different artists. Include your own assessment of the message each artist sends through the work and how you think his/her medium, processes, and technique affected the success of the work in communicating to the viewer.
2. Using examples from the textbook, explore the concept of installation and site specific work. Discuss the reasoning behind such a work of art (BOTH installation and site-specific) and how its impermanence or engagement of the viewer/visitor affects its meaning.

3. Consider Harrumph Kagoshima’s Porcelain Form (page 214). Discuss this work’s technique and the artist’s process. Also discuss how you believe this work might be categorized if one were to distinguish between fine art and craft. Do you find it aesthetically appealing – why or why not?

1. Choose a paper topic amongst those covered in the syllabus. The main requirement is that your paper has to do with business, ethics, and our texts. I favor taking copious notes in your texts (the bookstore doesn’t give you much back anyway), underline, doodle, scrawl, so that you have a lot of objections to turn into a paper.
In this paper you will argue your conclusion against opposition. So, get to the point right away. For example, the first couple of lines: “According to .” I disagree. In this paper I will argue: .” Above all, have and start with at least one paper you disagree with. After an explicit introduction (in this paper I will argue,etc.), spend 1-2 pgs simply explaining and QUOTING your opposition. Then start ARGUING against them. No just saying “I disagree” isn’t good enough. For this course, if you don’t know, can’t explain, or just have bad reasons for disagreeing; then you don’t disagree.
You should talk about something that is a real issue: a controversy with at least two sides. You should TAKE A SIDE, and in doing so you are not representing any given author YOU ARE REPRESENTING YOURSELF. I want YOUR ARGUMENT, though you can use whomever (even an outside source or two) to help you out. Your paper should be at least 50% in class text sources and be RELATED ESSENTIALLY TO BUSINESS PRACTICE (even if its fundamentally on a philosophical position). An easy way to do this is to bring in a case study or two. USE ACTUAL REAL LIFE EXAMPLES (like Enron or Microsoft) in place of hypothetical examples (like suppose a Ceo…) whenever possible.

Sure, you can use material you posted on the discussion board. It is not like it is published or anything, and you wrote it
MLA, APA, whatever, just be consistent.
Roughly half the paper’s content should have to do with one or more of our texts.
Most of this is probably not necessary on the rough draft, as you will fine tune it later. The rough draft should be at least an introduction.

Course Description: This is a philosophy course in organizational ethics. Philosophy argues for conclusions based on premises and ethics studies theories about what is good or bad, right or wrong in human conduct. Business, medicine, law, government, prisons and other types of organizational structures represent kinds of human conduct–the complicated story about how we do these things. So, add philosophy and ethics, and you get organizational ethics: the study of theories about how we should conduct ourselves in organizations. And it has a number of problems. Here are two:
First problem: methodology. People preeminently approach OE through a “deductive” case-study method that I find question begging. Lots of case studies tell us what is the case in contemporary organizations, but I’d rather know what should be and how to get there.
