In Unit 1 you have been introduced to prehistoric and early civilizations and their art, architecture, literature, and religion. Find a current cultural offering such as a movie, book, virtual exhibition of art or artifacts, or news article about recent discoveries related to the theme of this unit and write a one to two pages journal entry about that current cultural offering. Counselors can practice observing behaviors and recognizing pathologies by studying individuals in non-clinical settings. Fictional characters frequently portray a variety of behaviors that can be assessed using clinical methods to practice diagnosis and case conceptualization.

Choose 1 character from a movie, television show, or fictional story with a possible depressive disorder. You may use any of the characters listed on the Depressive Disorders: Character Cases list, or use a different 1 of your choosing, with instructor approval.

Develop a DSM-5 diagnosis for your selected character based on the presenting symptoms and behaviors.

Create a 9- to 12-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation and present your character’s assessment and diagnosis.

Support the diagnosis with excerpts from the movie, show, or story. These could be clips embedded into the presentation or quotes with descriptions of the behaviors.

In your presentation, include any:
Assessment tools you might use for diagnosis or rule-outs of differential diagnosis
Specifiers with your diagnosis

Write a case conceptualization for your character based on a theoretical perspective.

Cite any sources used in your assignment.

For this essay, you are to choose either Lorraine Hansberry’s “A Raison in the Sun” and Henrik Ibsen’s “A Doll House” from your textbook and write a reader response essay on it.
It’s to be between 650-750 words with only one source…the original work of literature from your textbook.

–about 2,000 words total
–use at least 7 sources including one book chapter and 2 scholarly peer-reviewed sources (weave them together in a flowing structure)
–it’s okay to change some sources from your annotated bibliography if you found better or more relevant options; you DON’T need to change your annotated bibliography even if you add more sources

For this paper you will be conducting research and reporting your findings on mutual aid resources and how they are used for large scale incidents and events. You will do this by answering the following questions:
What is mutual aid agreements and how do they benefit communities?
Is there any down fall to mutual aid agreements?
When can resources be called for with mutual aid agreements?
Are mutual aid agreement just for local governments or can they go all the way up to the federal level?
Give an example of a large scale event or incident where mutual aid was needed from not only local agreements but from interstate, and federal mutual aid agreements.
You will have a minimum of 750 words for this paper not counting the title and reference page. The paper will be formatted in APA format. You must have at least 2 valid sources for your references and all work must be properly cited in not only your reference section but within the main body of the paper as well. Course Project
You are to find three (3) different types of construction and take photos of at least two sides (four if possible). You are to write a one to two page paper for each type of construction (3-6 pages total. Not including photos.) and include the following:

1. Construction Type – describe the type and age of the building

2. Occupancy – classification and contents if possible

3. Describe specific hazards/problem(s) that are associated with each of your chosen construction types and how these issues may impact first responders. Examples such as early collapse, entry and egress challenges, exposures, contents, etc…

4. Include the photos of each structure and clearly label them.
