Hospitals collect data about both inpatients and outpatients on a daily basis. Statistics are used to monitor daily, weekly, and monthly trends. As one of the members of the Quality Committee, you are being asked to prepare a presentation to explain the hospital statistics that are most frequently analyzed at your organization.

During the Covid-19 crisis, there has been debate on when to “re-open” the economy. This crisis brings into
light the clash between economics and health. Automakers have long faced and solved a similar problem:
how safe should a car be. Too safe and it would be too expensive for the average consumer to afford. Not
safe enough and more people will be killed in accidents. We know individuals will die in car accidents each
year yet we allow driving because of the immense value it brings to individuals and the economy.

Write an APA paper that outlines the value of both health and economics. At what point should
“safe enough” be acceptable. Some topics you may wish to address: what is the value of human life (some industries actually put a monetary value) Why are some dangers viewed as more “acceptable”.
