Argumentative Research Essay Assignment:
This essay must be written in the argumentative mode, and you will incorporate research into it. The primary purpose of this argumentative essay is to convince readers to think the way you do about a subject. To accomplish this goal, you must establish a reasonable and thoughtful argument supporting a position on an issue.
Your essay should have the following parts:
Title page in APA format
In-Text Citations
Introduction which includes your thesis statement
Body paragraphs that state your reasons with supporting evidence
Refutation – acknowledge the opposing view, but explain why your position is the correct one
Conclusion
Reference page with a list of sources used in the essay.

Discussion Question
In this course, each of you will be developing a research proposal. Our focus this week is to identify a problem specific to your role option that is amenable to an innovative solution.
Based on your specialty role option (i.e., Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Educator, Nurse Informaticist, Nurse Administrator), identify a potential problem (topic) that you would like to investigate through nursing research. Begin by reading the American Association of Colleges of Nursing’s (AACN) position statement on nursing research (Nursing Research).
Next explore South’s Online Library and conduct a search to locate a minimum of three nursing research articles that have addressed the problem you have identified. The literature may not be older than 5 years. After reading the literature respond to the following:
Note your role specialization and briefly describe the problem you are interested in researching and why this is of interest to you.
Discuss your library search strategies and briefly summarize the literature you reviewed. Focus your discussion on the “problem” and how the literature you identified provides evidence of the existence of the problem.
Include in your discussion a potential innovation that you might consider as a solution to the problem identified.
Include citations/references in APA style format, using citations where appropriate.

Required at least 1000 words and at least 6 pages including charts and images.

The final project will apply what you know from class to a series of Reddit threads in one subreddit (you have some options to compare,
but remember that this is not required). You will use qualitative coding to explore the ideas/culture of the subreddit and apply very basic

Community Resilience
In this unit, you will learn about resilience and the ability to bounce back from a disaster or emergency. Conceptually, the idea of resiliency makes a lot of sense: the faster you can bounce back after a disaster, the faster you can recover and get on with your life. While theories and concepts are fun to talk about, they offer little substance unless you can apply them. Therefore, the objective of this week’s assignment is to apply the concept of resilience to your personal life.
Task
Identify a way in which you can use the concept of resiliency in your personal life.
Purpose
Talking about disaster theories is fun, but theories are rather abstract. To apply them to a disaster scenario offers little help because the concepts remain abstract. Your paper should use expository writing to explain the abstract concept — resilience — by applying it to something personal in an effort to transition between abstraction and application.
End State
To be successful, a student should do the following:
Identify an area of their life where they could build resiliency. This can be based on a real or fictitious situation.
Identify the actions they would take to build resilience.
Discuss how being more resilient in this aspect of their life would benefit them, and explain the anticipated benefits of undertaking the resiliency efforts.
