Jack’s Development
Jack is five years old and in Kindergarten. Once Jack got so upset, he started screaming at his teacher. He thought she was unfair because she gave him juice in a shorter cup than that of his classmates. The teacher tried to explain to him that he got the same amount of juice as everyone else, but he believed he got less because his cup was shorter. Jack is also having a hard time in the class because his teacher 1) discourages him and the rest of the class from talking (to themselves) as they try to work grade level math problems and 2) she provides Jack and the rest of the class math problems that are too complicated for them and provides them no help to solve them.
Mary’s Differences
Mary is 12 years old and attends XYZ Middle School. She lives with her parents and six other siblings. They currently live in the family van. The family has been struggling to get a home for the past three years with no luck. They have been living between motels and the van. Mary’s parents don’t work, and on most days, Mary and her siblings go to school without eating. Most, if not all, of Mary’s classmates, dislike her, and she’s never included in their games during recess. Moreover, Mary has a reputation for responding to the teacher before the teacher even finishes her questions. She also just tries to do the bare minimum academically and nothing more. Recently, Mary has spoken to her teacher about figuring out who she is and what she wants to do with her life in the future.

Sampling Distribution
A computer scanner can read a bar code on a package correctly 97% of the time. One company monitors the accuracy of the scanner by randomly sampling packages and verifying that each package has been correctly scanned. Random samples of size n = 25, 50, 100, and 200 have recently been taken with the following results.
Sample Size, n Number Correctly Scanned
25 24
50 49
100 95
200 193
To complete this activity, use Excel to:
Calculate the sample proportion for each sample size.
Calculate the single-proportion sampling error for each sample size.
Calculate the probability of finding 198 correctly scanned packages, for a sample of size n=200.
Submit your work Excel file.

Objectivity Standardin Journalism
1. The key concept is objectivity. What is the concept? How has it been defined? What role does it play in our understanding of journalism? How does it work in practice? How has it evolved? I do a bit of this in my literature review, especially the last question. However, this should be further developed in terms of the content and structure of my narrative. It needs more discussion of the theoretical literature on the concept’s meaning. There are also many debates on the critique of the concept coming from many different directions (e.g., alternative media and citizen media scholars). The relevant debates here need mapping out and unpacking. Finally, I need you to exposit the research that has looked at objectivity in journalism practice. 2. Fake news is another key concept that needs similar development and unpacking. 3. In my literature review, which I have uploaded, I tried to discuss the connection between partisan media (sometimes smeared as fake news) and objectivity standards in media. However, it still needs to be integrated better into the narrative concerning objectivity and fake news. The connection to the former is self-evident. But I found it is still not enough to convince people that fake news is somehow used as rhetoric to demonize partisan reports. 4. I need to develop the relationship between the two (and their related concepts). I have connected particular elements of these concepts, but I need yours helps to explain to the reader how and why I’m doing this. For example, to some readers, the objectivity vs fake news binary is not self-evident, as fake news is a multifaceted concept. They may think that my discussion about partisan media gets thrown into the mix without any real discussion of its relation to the above concepts. There are also assumptions being made implicitly or explicitly, which need unpacking and explaining. What about the role of subjectivity in journalism? Any hoot, conceptual clarity is needed. 5. Please also involve some discussion about journalism in the UK.
